Final fantasy record keeper isn't a hero collector but it's a gacha game for sure.

Tried that star ocean game but the rates on 5* units is awful even with guaranteed ones in banners you'll have such a large pool to keep you from getting any good ones. And you need several copies for the level cap to be raised. Gave up after a few days.

Returned to kingdom hearts Union x after like 2+ years. I'm already further than I was with a fresh account. The power creep is obscene, in under a week I got to level 301.

Also if you're on Unknown, he (and all other God-Generals) will use their Mystic Artes in every battle they're a part of (so he can use both his Mystic Artes while fighting alongside Largo just after you have received Natalia quite early on in the game, as well as the following 2 battles, one of which he uses one MA no matter the difficulty, and the other he uses 2 based on his HP). Of course, you can't get Unknown (or Very Hard) until beating the game once, but it's something I wish they would do more often with other recurring bosses. I loved how Symphonia would have bosses do different moves based on the difficulty, unfortunately the difficulty in the more modern games effects idiotic things like "not allowed to use items for longer" or "hp from healing arts is basically nothing" which I find a tad silly.

Even without free run (which I have beaten the entire game on a couple of times, even on Unknown with almost all AD skills turned off), about the only boss who can be a real hassle is optional, and because she hits like a damn truck.

Tfw I just infinite combo her with Luke and Guy. That light spear cannon and something where guy jumps up, gotta swap between the two characters manually but it's easy enough to set up. Mess up though and you can get screwed on unknown. Never tried past very hard seriously just because either you're using a party of 4x9999 boosted fonic weapons, or you're hitting her like 1.5 million times.

Luke had that one fragment the entire time and ultimately got in the way of Ash from the getgo. Plus he destroyed that one city, akzeriuth? And ash tried to stop him. And Luke ran from responsibility and when he finally did accept it, ash was forced to try his best to keep van and his cohorts away from the party at times. And of course ash died because of Luke. So. *shrugs*

And all you missed was like 2 movie tie ins, fighting the thing linked to the fell arms but that's also immune to them, and Flynn actually joining. Patti doesn't change much at all except add new banter to raven. The changes overall are like the difference between star ocean 4 on 360 and the international ps3 and later HD releases on PC and ps4. Vesperia was actually complete as is and it's not like anyone saw hearts r coming so the exclusive argument was weak as hell since we actually had got a version of the game 2 years prior in the west.

If you think symphonia has a terrible villain, you should see xillia's. he's a bad guy. Now an ally against other universe people. Now he's bad again and using that super unstable "sister" against the party. Oh and he spams mystic artes every 20-30 seconds. Woo.

At least with vesperia the real villain who caused everything to to to heck got built up. Then the final villain was basically a plot extension but a new dungeon in the ps3 version added a bit of backstory to make things slightly better addressed, even if it is post game or ng+ restricted.

Vesperia ps3 is one of the best games I've ever played, especially since you can equip 16 Artes at once. Even just having 8 in abyss could be annoying for mega combo exhibitions, and abyss had it so you could OL reset your entire combo and end in a mystic Arte.

You'd have to get like, 2 extensions to the story on par with the Lineage and Legacies (F) arc from Tales of Graces to fix the length issue, though you could do it like Vesperia and chuck it into the main plot. As for gameplay, well. :/ Total rework like Hearts to Hearts R is definitely possible. Story wise though, the big issues besides the length are... *shudders* Remember the shift from act 2 of abyss to about 2 hours into act 3 where Luke suddenly is having some self doubt issues that didn't get explored enough to feel justified? Imagine similar skips in characterization that make things feel oddly paced for a non-remake game to come out in the DS era.

I'll say this much for those who are sad we've not got every title over in the West.

Take everything bad people frequently agree on about FFXIII, XV, and Pokemon BW1 and you'd still probably have a better game than Tempest. I never even paid money to get a copy to play and I still wanted my money back. I was WARNED about how the ending just pops up and you're like "it's way too soon for that" and I still was taken aback by how short it is.

Yeah even worse, I did a hard mode run on my first playthrough. Every attack did 1 damage unless I piled on a bunch of spells at the same time, which did a bit more cuz it caused the stun or whatever? Didn't help they had 10k hp+. The thing is, I was always like 3-5 levels above them, too. Did nobody think that people were gonna try hard mode to start off?

It's why they totally reworked difficulty stuff by the next game. Better AI, not necessarily. More aggressive, definitely. More attacks and higher frequency of certain ones, etc. But without also making the enemy have defenses that leave you spending half an hour spamming attacks. Even with ng+ inheritance, it's just tedious as hell.

Yeah this is true. In terms of character development, he's easily the most developed MC out of all the Tales. But the obvious problem is that they started too low like idiots. They should've shown some of his more positive qualities earlier on

That's just it though, Yuri was already like 23 when he was the main character. He was grown and had a developed personality and worldview, but his main growth was opening up to others and trusting them to the point that he would put himself in danger for them or trust them to handle things. It's why the whole Schwann ordeal really hurt him so much, even if there'd been times before that where the group suspected something bad was coming they almost always got pleasantly surprised.

But to expect an adult like Yuri to suddenly change his personality and worldview after the journey, it's a bit unreal. A teenager like Luke changing after witnessing things around the world and learning the truth about himself and whatnot, that definitely works. Compare that with Edge from star ocean 4 though, where a teenager suddenly gets put in charge of such a massive mission and all the stuff that changes him, it went several steps past melodramatic.

My favorite final dungeon is probably Tales of Vesperia's. Nice transition between the tiers, good spacing between save points and boss fights, enemies change between sections but keep things fresh, nice enough music, and no puzzles that are big enough they slow your progress to a crawl.

I have a few other good ones but in hindsight they had tedious aspects. Like spamming a surge of one hit or game over mechanics. Or else, terrible music that killed the entire thing.

They want everyone in every role to have about the same pick rate, 50% win/ loss rate, 50% attacker and defender rates on all maps, etc.

Which isn't really balance since certain characters will still always have better pick rates because of their synergy.

In terms of writing and characters, yeah. The dungeons tend to be interesting(though you do get some clunkers like Air Rock, of course) and the graphics and soundtrack are really good. Still not sure how they managed that with the GBA, of all things.

It was before the end of the GBA life cycle for that matter. Heck, look at the graphics of Kingdom Hearts CoM, for that matter. The functionality and graphics only had 2-3 peers right up til the very end of games being published (officially) for it.

Same deal with FFXII for the ps2 having great graphics and some of the best for the console... The the west. Japan had some fantastic games that released in 2009 that blow it away.

I've had several friends that were hispanic, middle eastern or 1/4 Asian who look white get ghosted immediately by girls once they found out that they weren't caucasian.

White Americans don't comprehend that a large amount of Hispanic people are every bit as European as they are nor that a larger amount of Hispanics have recent(~300 years) European DNA. Somebody "half Mexican" is pretty much white unless the Mexican parent was 100% native or Black. Some Mexicans are 100% European.

Not Mestizo, at least not on my father's side. I'm 1/4 Puerto Rican but since my mother's mother was somewhat racist, my mother's father was probably Mestizo.

This. It also started the trend of side stories inside of a dungeon. Level 7 had you fight that mini boss' bats or something and then the mini boss teamed up with dungeon boss.

That was probably the only weak dungeon in the game, and that's including the side quest between main level ones.
