Gameking has beaten Spider-Man.

Had a lot of fun with this one and should get the platinum this weekend, something I rarely do. I'll come back to the DLC once I go through SUPERHOT though.

I think I'll go ahead and nominate Resident Evil 2 and Dragon Quest.

I've been playing Spider-Man all month and am at 87% completion according to the game. I've done almost everything I can do at this point. I'm having so much fun with the traversal and combat, that it overshadows some of my issues I have with the game. Any time it lets you simply play as Spider-Man without anything extra thrown in, this game really shines.

I'll also hopefully play through Superhot once I finish this.

I beat Guacamelee 2.

I liked the first game and this was just more of that with a bit more polish. That's okay when the game is as fun as it is.

I should beat Super Metroid by today or tomorrow so my last nom will go to Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

Gameking has beaten Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Had a good time going back to this. I really like how compact this game is compared to Arkham City. The metroidvania progression is great, and the Riddler trophies are so much less frustrating than in the sequel.

However, I prefer the combat in Arkham City so much more and I had a tougher time pulling off large combos with the more limited abilities in this game. The bosses also are pretty bad and mostly amount to waiting around until you can attack, fighting off waves of enemies, and repeating that several times. These got really frustrating playing through on hard mode.

Anyway, I also started playing Guacamelee 2 and my next nomination goes to Life is Strange: Before the Storm.

I should beat Arkham Asylum this weekend. I'm right at the end. Been having a good time replaying this and have also gotten kind of addicted to getting all the Riddler trophies.

Just got the gravity suit in Super Metroid the other day too.

For my two noms I have, I'll go with Thumper and Super Castlevania IV.

Gameking has beaten What Remains of Edith Finch.

I don't play a lot of walking simulators, but I really liked this one. Structuring it with all those mini stories of the family members leads to some really creative sections. Gregory's chapter was far and away my favorite, but the swinging chapter was pretty stand out too.

Definitely a game I'll think about for a while after playing.

Gameking has beaten The Last of Us.

I really love this game, and I'm so glad it holds up. The gameplay isn't revolutionary or anything, and I can see why others might not love it, but I like the pacing of it a lot. I really get into the groove of things, and it's just so satisfying to so well in this game. The characters of Joel and Ellie are a lot of fun, and I think the story, while somewhat simple, is told really well. When I played this in 2013 it was one of my favorite games, and I think it still is today.

I'm hoping to play through Edith Finch tomorrow, so we'll see if I can get finish it in time.

Been revisiting The Last of Us the last two days and have made it to Bill's town. Got the Platinum for this game when it came out and thought it was one of my favorites. So far it's still holding up, and I'm glad to be replaying it before Part 2 comes out.

I'll also be playing Edith Finch this month. Bought it a while back and never got around to it.

I actually finally started The Evil Within this past weekend. I've bought it three times this month. First copy I bought got lost in the mail. Second copy didn't work so I just bought it digitally. I'm up to chapter 6 so far. I'll have thoughts up after playing a bit more.

Gameking has beaten Super Mario Bros. and Zelda 2.

Always good to play Mario, and I'm glad I finally pushed through Zelda 2. I've always stopped pretty early, but once I got used to the difference in style, it was a lot of fun.

Not sure about noms yet.

I beat Beyond: Two Souls.

I'm conflicted with this game. I enjoyed it enough while playing it, but really had to turn my brain off with the pretty bad writing. Had some neat moments, but man, the plot could get kind of dumb and was really not self aware.

Been playing Prey, though, and I'm really into it. Hoping to finish it by the end of the month, but I'm taking my time with it.

I'll nominate Transistor and Rayman Legends.

Gameking has beaten Full Throttle.

Had a good time with this. The comedy was solid and everything felt super nostalgic despite having never played this before. Could be a little tough to figure out certain puzzles though, and the bike combat section was not fun.

Last nomination will go to What Remains of Edith Finch.

Gameking has beaten Degrees of Separation.

Haven't been hoe for most of the month, so I downloaded this on my Switch and have been playing it when I could. Honestly, wasn't a huge fan of it. There were moments in the game where I got into it and had a good time trying to solve some of the puzzles, but for every clever puzzle there were several that just felt like I was going through the motions. Probably would have been more enjoyable playing co-op. The environmental art in the game was pretty beautiful though.

I will nominate Beyond: Two Souls and Grand Theft Auto III for next month.

I did download Full Throttle when it was on sale, so I should be starting that up pretty soon. I've never really dived deep into the adventure genre, but have always wanted to play through some of these, so I'm glad to give this a go.

Gameking has beaten Rime.

The ending was really solid, and it did a good job with the themes it was exploring. I had originally assumed the child was going to end up being the father dealing with the loss of his childhood, but the direction it took was a nice surprise.. After finishing it, I ended up reading an interview with the creator that really added to the experience as a whole.

Aside from that, I believe I'm on floor 9 of Lolo. Having a good time with it. It's a pretty solid puzzle game.

I forgot to post earlier in the month when I beat Wario land and Octodad.

Wario Land took me a bit to get into, but I ended up having a good time once I did. Took me a while before I even realized there were power ups in the game.

As for Octodad, I'm glad this topic got me to finally play it. It was a lot of fun to make my way through it. I was constantly looking forward to seeing what the next section of gameplay would be like and I beat most of it in one sitting.
