He seems to get a lot of hate; at first I thought it was one of those "love to hate him" things, but a lot of people really don't like him at all. I mean, he is kind of a pessimistic asshole, but he tries his best. And he's a Man of Culture!

How so?

There's no story to hook you in, as most episodes can be watched standalone, whereas something with a good story will have you wanting to keep going to further the plot and see new developments.

You know, now that I think of it, I don't think the current model of isekai wouldn't actually be a good base for a game, even though nearly all of them use "game mechanics."

I mean, isn't one of the big draws of the isekai genre, the fact that they're using "game mechanics" like status screens and leveling up, in a non-game world?

An isekai game would be just a basic fantasy game.

Although, if you use the literal term of isekai , which is "another world", then there would be a couple of games that qualify.

The Final Fantasy Tactics Advance games are a major example. So would Final Fantasy X. Star Ocean 2 as well. And if you count travelling through time as "another world" then games that have that would count as well.

Think it could be a fun beginning for a game. You start off in your home town doing normal things, get summoned to a fantasy world and go from there. Maybe have it on subsequent playthroughs that you can get different home world items to use in the new world.

Speaking of isekai, following Grimgar, I decided to revisit Re: Zero. And then I realized that Flora and Felicia from Fire Emblem Fates are based on Rem and Ram. *facepalm* Still interesting to watch, considering where it fits in the genre. (Subaru is one of the absolute worst protags in any genre, IMO, but a lot of people feel that way about him.)

So I'm browsing random manga on an app. I'm not even joking here: four out of every five titles I check out have "transported to a parallel world" somewhere in the description. (And they don't even have "isekai" in the title, so it's not like I'm seeking them out.)

This shit's not funny anymore.

I really like the isekai theme and keep waiting for one to get a nice long run, or at least somewhere close to 100 eps. I can totally see there being a glut when it comes to manga though.

Haven't been watching any anime, since I started Park and Rec. Gonna knock out the prologue and end story for Grisaia 3 and then probably start Maitetsu. Like 95% sure I'm going to quit Granblue, or play it way way less, which is what I've done for the last couple days.

Haven't read Goblin Slayer either, but am looking forward to it.

Gonna finish Darling in the Franxx today most likely. Also, a bit over 40% into Grisaia 3's main story. I'm hoping, something from the anime that I actually remember, happens in this one. New Granblue event starts in a few hours, so I'm looking forward to that too and hopefully a bunch of free shit in August.

This has been a whole month full of bad karma. Still recovering from my back injury, my daughter is fresh from surgery (Friday), and then my smartphone died this morning without explanation. (Mercifully, it still had two months left on the warranty, so a replacement is incoming.) The only mobage for which I did not lose my data is Fire Emblem Heroes. So ... FGO is gone. Memoria Freese is gone. SMT Liberation Dx2 is gone. Star Ocean: Anamnesis is gone. A whole lot of time and effort is gone. FML.

I might try to restart Memoria Freese, but I get the feeling I am going to have to be content with playing FEH on my tablet for a little while.

If I were to somehow lose my GBF account, I'd just sulk a bit and then never play it again. These games weren't attached to any accounts, just on your phone?

I dunno if it's the "version" I got, but for some reason the H-scenes can only be seen with the event viewer and not during the story. And I actually couldn't view them at all until I clicked the thing that said unlock all h-scenes. I dunno if that's a bug or if that's how they wanted it to be but it's slightly annoying.

I went with the Hachiroku route first cause I felt that was the most canon route in terms of a single person route.

I think Hibiki is my favorite character.

But Kisaki is definitely the hottest to me.

I hope it's not like that in the version I got, pm the one you got. I'll try to see if it's the same. I much prefer the scenes to just be part of the story, it kinda kills their value if they just feel like tacked on extras.

Shining Song Starnova (i.e. Idolm@ster, but lewd) is available. Kickstarter backers (myself included) already have the GOG and Denpasoft keys, Steam to follow once Steam makes up its mind about its content filters. Same developer as the Sunrider VNs, so it ought to be at least passable fun.

The Shin Megami Tensei mobage (Liberation Dx2) is also a thing now. Not a game for low-end phones; my LG can barely manage its lowest settings.

More ero vns is always nice. Also, still plugging away at Granblue Fantasy. Should be getting a bunch of draws in August, so I'm looking forward to that.

Eva is barely a mecha show though. Their mechs are just a way to create crisis and conflict in the main characters lives. Ironically eva's mechs are a lot more grounded in their abilities than most mechs even in real robot mecha.

Similarly darling in the franxx is also barely a mecha show. It's actually got a lot of similarities with eva.

Eva's mc killed that show for me. Two eps into Darling and it's interesting so far.

Well if you dislike Mecha anime, you'll like darling since the mech fights are more like short breaks between character Development and plot advancement

I don't hate mecha anime, I just really prefer mechs that are mechanical and not some weird supernatural thing. Though, I can like those kinds too, but I prefer the mechanical kind. My go to example, is the mechs they have in the 3rd Matrix movie are what I prefer, though, they can be more complicated and larger.
