Not denying that, but let's not forget all the memes about her surviving that year as well.

Even without Betty, December was pretty bad across the spectrum. You still had Madden, Tutu, Dole and even the Voice of DBZ, Joji Yanami.

Did any other month come close?

blue wave in the midterm elections because of the massively disproportionate covid casualties of voters on the right
Given Joe's dismal performance, that would be surprising. With trump getting a booster and other prominent rep figures starting to take pandemic procedures seriously, that could also sway some voters.

Next year though? Reactions to the pandemic and the vaccine have been so bizarre I can't really think of something comparably as strange. I'm sure I'll see many surprises, though.
That's exactly it. I'm curious what people might think will happen - likely more surprising that what we've seen so far.

2020 We had an unprecedented Pandemic
2021 We had a vaccine, but not everyone wanted to take it

The optimist in me is thinking that the dominant COVID variant will mutate into nothing more than a common cold. But that's wishful thinking.

What do you think is going to be the surprise virus-related topic for 2022?
