it doesn't really matter how often you pay your mortgage, they amortize a month at a time.

Not sure about the United States, but in Canada interest is calculated daily so you are better off to make payments as often as possible (weekly in most cases).

35% of your paycheck should be going to housing (that includes mortgage/bills/strata fees if you own)

When you say "source of our success" what do you mean exactly? Source of specifically Trump's success in 2016? Or something else?

Cause it's entirely possible for a Democrat to lose the popular vote and win the election, and be a reverse of 2016.

Something exactly like this happened in Canada in our most recent election. The Conservative party got the most votes, and ended up in a pretty big loss in the parliament split (157 to 121). They won in massive 80-20 blowouts in some parts of the country (mostly Alberta), and lost by narrow margins in the rest of the country.

(Of course, a bunch of them got on social media bitching about how Canada should switch to a popular vote system, which is funny cause most of them also followed the 2016 US election and were against the popular vote at that time).

Anyway, I'm in favour of the popular vote, not because I expect it to benefit one party or the other (it's a fairly neutral) but because I don't live in a battleground state and feel pretty ignored over here. It would be cool to have politicians campaigning near me, maybe a rally every once in a while, or something.

Canada is a bit different, with the NDP it is quite hard for the Liberals to run up the score relative to the Conservatives (at least until another right wing party takes hold) as there aren't really any areas where at least one of the Conservatives or NDP is viable against the Liberals.

Currently, in the United States the Republicans are struggling in the big states. The only state with 10+ EC that they won by more than 20 points was Tennessee (11 EC). Democrats on the other hand, had California (55), New York (29), Massachusetts (11) and Maryland (10). Unless there's a massive change of voter intention, Democrats will continue to have a relatively inefficient vote spread. On the flip side it would be much easier for them to secure a landslide victory, especially as Texas continues to shift Democrat.

I think I've seen more feminists express support for (safe, consensual, "non-exploitative") sex work than oppose it, fwiw

Yeah, giving women the option to do what ever they want to their bodies is a pretty major pillar of feminism

The major difference to look out for is whether or not the person is doing it because they want to or because they have to...

Another issue for Pokemon is that the selection has been made before the games came out. At best we can look at which Pokemon the creators have been pushing. The Pokemon will likely Gigantamax.

https://www.serebii.net/swordshield/gigantamax.shtml

If it's not the starters my money would be on Hatterene, Grimmsnarl or Toxtricity (to coincide with when its form is revealed).

If anything I'd argue Roy (along with Chrom) is the most likely Fire Emblem character to be cut. Lucina likely makes it unless Nintendo wants to get rid of echoes while at least one of Robin/Corrin/Byleth gets cut to make room for the next Fire Emblem main character.

Yeah Geno had a chance earlier, but now it's hard to see him in the game, kind of like Isaac. I think someone from Astral Chain has a better shot than those guys.

Not that I wouldn't mind if they made it.

100% we'll never see a roster like this again in smash. Probably never in any game.

Pretty much, it was hard enough for Nintendo to get everyone back for Ultimate, now add in those third party DLC characters...

A Playstation All-Star could in theory match this, but having Sony to organize all the third party characters would be impossible. The only other option would be Disney if they ever wanted to go all in for Kingdom Hearts 4, but that would be more multi-media than gaming.

Depending on how severe the cuts are, loads of popular characters are getting cut no matter what. 3DS era is what saved the franchise, I just can't imagine it would be shunned.

I doubt it will be cut so badly that there will only be three Fire Emblem characters, but Ike is very safe. He's too big of a fan favourite.

Roy is the least likely to return while one or both of Corrin/Byleth will not return. Awakening will probably have one, two if they decide to throw in an easy to make Lucina. In the end I see the series still retaining 5-6 characters.

What this really means is that Smash 6 is guaranteed to be flooded with predictions of whatever the new FE avatar is. Three in a row is a pretty solid pattern.

No different than Pokemon, the only other major series consistently adding new major characters.

With Smash 6 characters are going to be cut and no doubt some of Fire Emblem will be getting the axe (sword?). Marth, Ike and the future new Fire Emblem main are locks while the other six characters have their pros and cons including other factors such as roster size will determine how many of them will return.

We will then witness a lot of whining regardless on who is cut.

And I think no matter who joins, the Smash fanbase is capable of being pissed to some degree.

Pretty much, there was quite a bit of hate (not as much as here) for when Hero and Banjo were revealed so you are never going to please everyone.

Byleth being a DLC character is about as obvious as a Gen 8 Pokemon. Is it because it was the fifth reveal or would we have gotten the same response if it was the 6th-11th reveal?

Finally got some time to play sword and shield.

I guess the game wanted me to spend some time in the wild area after the third badge. My team was level 27 (same as the gym leader) now going into route 6 the wild Pokemon are now level 33.

Yeah, it's not about loyalty, it's about "why pay them more for work they are already doing."

My brother was in a similar situation where he was essentially trained to be a supervisor at a large grocery store, minus the title and pay. While he never grumbled about his situation, it did cause him to look elsewhere as he was planning for his future. Lucky for him, when he went to give his notice they matched his proposed new salary and promoted him, but it goes without saying, they only did it because they had to and would have been happy paying him his previous salary.
