Of course UFO's exist.

UFO = Unidentified Flying Object.

Object? Check.
Flying? Check.
Can you identify it? Negative.
It's a UFO.

If we knew what they were they wouldn't be UFOs anymore, now would they?

Horseflies. They're freaking huge and their bites hurt like hell. And they carry all kind of diseases, including equine infectious anemia, anthrax, tularemia, and Loa loa filariasis, which is a disease caused by nematode worms that migrate through the subcutaneous tissues of humans, including the eyeballs.

I got a high(ish) end camera, but I don't know what half the buttons do.

I mean, I know ISO and exposure and metering and stuff, but, like, ... I don't know what Fn1, Fn2, BKR, how to use the weighted auto-focus and stuff

my pictures look like this!!!

https://i.imgur.com/fv5vVEW.jpg
Your shutter speed is way too slow for that picture. Most people can hold a camera still with a 50mm prime lens (or equivalent) down to 1/60s or even 1/30 if you have very steady hands. Image stabilization can add a stop or two, down to as little as 1/15. You need to use a tripod if you have to go any slower, and perhaps a remote shutter release if you're using a telephoto lens. If you can't do that, bump up the ISO and widen the aperture. Most high end cameras can set a minimum shutter speed; mine can even adjust it based on the focal length.

Make sure you're using the viewfinder if you have one. I found I can hold the camera much more steady with it mashed up against my face than trying to hold it out in front of me. Of course, with a tripod, the screen is usually the better choice unless the sun is shining on it.

I usually set my camera to spot metering mode. I then aim the camera at the main subject and partially press and hold the shutter button. This focuses the camera and locks the exposure on the subject. Then while continuing the hold the shutter button partway, I compose the shot. Then I fully depress the shutter button. This lets me take a picture with the subject off-center (e.g. rule of thirds). If I want to take multiple shots of the same subject, I can use the AEL and/or AF ON buttons to lock those settings. (Your camera may or may not have these buttons, but the shutter button trick works on virtually all cameras).

If you're not familiar with the Rule of Thirds, learn it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds And turn on the guides, most cameras offer them.

I usually install Notepad++. It's about 1000 times more useful than plain Notepad. Especially if you're doing code, because there are plugins that help with formatting various languages.

But for note taking, I use Microsoft OneNote. There are versions available for Windows, Mac and Android and the notes are automatically synced with the Cloud. You can insert pictures and make drawings with a stylus, graphics tablet or the Samsung Note S-pen.

Doesn't have to be a real person (Ms Frizzle). but someone who hosts an science education show, like Carl Sagan or Bill Nye. Not someone who just is a scientist but doesn't actually teach people stuff, like Spock or Rick.

Toll roads EVERYWHERE. All of them except in Scandinavia require you to come to a complete stop.

Border control going in and out of Russia and other non-Schengen Area countries. You have to come to a complete stop and wait while they "inspect" your papers.

On the other hand, there are no annoying truck scales or weigh stations.

Ferries are mandatory for certain locations (Sardinia, Sicily, Corsica, Great Britain), and practically mandatory for others (Norway, Finland, Sweden. You can get there without them but it'll take forever). There's only one ferry in ATS (Port Townsend - Coupeville), and it's just $100; ETS2 has 28 ferries plus the Chunnel, and can cost up to 2,500 (Helsinki - Travemnde) per trip.

You have to drive on the left in Great Britain.

Traffic lights are different. In many areas, the yellow light comes on along with the red to indicate the light is about to turn green.

Roundabouts everywhere.

All roads in Germany lead to Ausfahrt. :)

I've worn a mask inside stores and to and from my car since the beginning of April. I don't really spend a lot of time outdoors in public, but if I did I'd wear a mask.

Every time I've had the farrier over to work on my mare's hooves I've worn a mask even though he didn't.

I bought a couple dozen cotton bandanas. They make great masks, they absorb sweat, they're easily washed, they're fairly cheap, and after the pandemic is over I can still use them as handkerchiefs/sweat bands/tourniquets/rags/etc
