TopicJeff Sessions says with the BLESSING of Trump that CHRISTIANS can REFUSE Gays!!!
benbeverfaqs

They could bake the cake and give it to the paying customer and be done with it.

Instead they choose to be hateful and discriminatory.

They didn't have to have anything to do with a gay wedding. Baking cakes is their daily business. They could have totally ignored the that the wedding was gay, it didn't have anything to do with them. Nobody forced anything gay or homosexual on the bakers.
But the cake makers forced their hate (based on religious beliefs) on the gay people by refusing them normal service.

Discriminatory hate like that leads to a huge amount of suffering in the world, now and in the past. Think violence against same sex couples. Apartheid in South Africa. Women not allowed to vote or study in the past. And still in the middle east. Buddhist killing Muslims in Myanmar. Jews in Europe in WW2. The list is endless.
And it starts with refusing something simple like a customer in a shop. "Go away, I don't like your kind, next customer please!"

Nobody is "forcing" the bakers to make a cake. Making cakes is their business. It's not for them to select who they sell it to. Unless it impacts them in some way. In this case it does not.
What if they refused to sell cakes to jews, blacks, and women?

Yes, asking for leniency was not wrong for a grandmother. She was 68 and in the eyes of a 68 year old, an 16 year old kid is very young and child like.
If it was the right sentence, I have no idea, don't know much about the situation, circumstances, character.

I love watermelon.

People should be able to take a joke like that. Really childish.

The more food you add to the list of "not allowed to give to black people", the more discrimination will increase. Not decrease.

The new firefighters should've given him a silly present back. Then become friends.

Now there's hateful feelings and seperation.
An all black no watermelons allowed firestation.
And maybe somehwere else an all white firestation where they're afraid of hiring black people because of the long list of "discriminatory" items.

Read the topic and thought it was an idea for a new holiday.
Turns out it's already an official holiday in a lot of states except nobody celebrates it, but post offices and banks may be closed that day. It's also not on october 12 but on a monday because of reasons.

I can name a handful of more important explorers. And I can name over 100 things that make a better holiday. This seems to be a nationalistic thing, italians vs spaniards, white immigrants vs native americans etc.
I don't see any fun or pro's about this "holiday". It's better off changed to something more meaningful. I also don't have a problem with people that want to celebrate it.
TopicDo you believe soda companies care about your health?

Of course not. They're selling sour sugar water.
If they cared about the health of people they'd be making and selling other things.
Maybe some people in the companies care a little bit. But the higher ups care about sales and profit. Otherwise they wouldn't be higher ups.
Of course you already knew the answer.

Learn her that she can't always have what she wants.

"she says she's going to have a fit every time we go to that store."
Apparently this worked in the past, and she learned to use it as a threat.

Don't get her anything for a while.

She should have learned things like this by age 5 or so.

Not learning things like this as a child can lead to serious personality disorders and a really hard adult life.

42% voted and 90% was pro seperation. That's a pretty clear result.

That's not clear at all.

It's very clear. 42% is very high considering voting was illegal and almost made impossible. 90% of 42% is 38%. 38% of people taking that effort, means it should be taken seriously.

If you want an example of unclear results, take the US election of Bush or Trump, who won with less votes than their opponents.
Or Brexit, where 70% of people voted on a complex matter and 51.9% voted leave.
Those are democratically unclear results.

Personally I hope this is resolved without another Spanish civil war, and I'd think that unity is better than Catalan independence. I also don't favor Iraqi Kurdistan becoming independent. I sided with the Imperials in Skyrim, too. I generally think learning to get along is better than breaking apart. That requires movement from both sides, which doesn't always work out.

Getting along is great, but it doesn't have to be in one country. Catalonia has it's own language and culture. I don't know if they're better off as a small country between France and Spain, but that's for them to decide. Have a referendum and if 60% or 67% or so wants to leave, then so be it.
Same for Scotland. I think they're fine in the UK, but if they want to leave (for instance to stay in the EU) they should be free to do so.
I'm definitely in favor of Kurdistan. The kurds are basically a country (language, religion, culture etc) with no land. It was arbitrarily divided between Syria, Iraq and Turkey a century ago. A lot of middle eastern country borders were just drawn onto a map. Leading to a century of war. Just give the Kurds the land in Syria and Iraq where they have a 67%+ majority. They already fought for it. And it might bring peace. (note, not turkish land and not the oil fields in syria they'r occupying at the moment)

Cancer is a disease we're trying to cure. And we research and inform people about risks, like smoking.
Heart disease is a disease we're trying to cure. And educate people about a healthy lifestyle.
Car crashes are very tragic and make local news. Cars are made safer every year.
The Syrian war is horrible and is on the news everyday. It's a political and religious puzzle that seems impossible to solve.

58 people die because a mad man kills them. Random people like you and me. Not diagnosed with cancer, eating unhealthy or living in Syria. Of course that makes the news. Of course that's scary. And of course that's a national tragedy.

Calling that hypocrisy and "not giving a shit" just makes you an emotionless edgelord who doesn't understand the world. Luckily, most people do give a shit.

benbeverfaqs
10/06/17 7:58:08 AM

The "guaranted good till" date is exactly that. It's not an expiration date. Food can go bad way before the expiration date is stored wrong. Or, in case of canned food, it'll be good in 10 or 20 years from now.
Table salt has an "expiration date" too. Even though it'll be exactly the same in 1000 years.
Expiration dates on canned food (sterile and micro organisms can't get to it) is arbitrary nonsense.
(note, if kept for decades the taste may go down, but it'd still be edible)
