Assistant manager is alright, but I feel like after not knowing much about wines and spirits when I started, 1.5 years later I do.

However the head manager has 100x more knowledge than I could even hope to obtain, so.

Of course I can take the seasoning packet after I am done and put it on and mix it into the noodles. but if I add stuff to the water while cooking that flavor stays in the water and never goes into the noodles. I prefer to drain most of the water from the noodles before I eat, so leaving some water in doesnt help much.

Is this an unreasonable request?

argonautweakend
11/21/19 11:18:17 PM

21 years old making her perfectly legal in every sense!

Before working at a liquor store I never realized rum has a market kind of like whisky: barrel aged expressions to show what a good rum can be. I never knew this, until a customer told me about Kirk and Sweeney 12 year. Until I had that it was really just Captain and other assorted stuff not as fine as that. At $30 it is a steal because it is so smooth and has so much character. It shows what rum can be if you shy away from the mainstream market a little, though brands like Bacardi have an 8 ans edition and they can get a little upscale, too.

So, I've wanted to try this one for a variety of reasons, namely because at my store this is the oldest rum we have that is not a blend. We have a 23 year bottle blended with spirit from 6 years to 23, so while it is more reasonable than Zafra(60 vs $47) it isn't a true 23 year.

When I was in Phoenix earlier this year I wanted to try and find this at a Total Wine; being from Commievania I was disappointed I could not, however there are so many brands of liquor in existence I can't fault them for not having it even though its a warehouse sized megacenter. So instead I settled on something called "Ron Mateusalem 23" which I did not like. It was definitely drinkable but not nearly as smooth and flavorful, in my opinion, as Kirk. Sometimes I feel like spirit is made and aged to say they did it, but not much of an eye to what it's supposed to taste like. Such as: Black Velvet 8 and Pike Creek 10 rum cask. My opinion of Ron could be wrong as I am no rum master, having just one premium rum before that. It was also a blend, so not 100% 23 year. You can find blends that are 100% the year just different varieties and thats fine. Blends can be good but sometimes it is used to make a cheaper spirit while you need to read the fine print to see how and why its blended if it is.

This is a producto de panama and 40% alcohol. This also has been matured in bourbon casks. It costs as mentioned $60

This stuff is a deep, dark brown. This smells light and sweet and a little creamy. I can't put my finger on it, but despite there being some alcohol present, it smells awesome!

As far as how it tastes...I am no rum master, but I enjoy it. its sweet and has a little burn but overall pleasant. I'm pretty bad at describing what it is I am smelling and tasting on this one. it is beyond drinkable though. it has a pleasant taste but it doesn't wow me.

So there you have it! a fine product to try if you are interested in such a thing and consider its value worth something in the ballpark range of $60.

So that begs the question. aged rums. do you guys have any favorites? lets talk about rum

Oh yeah I love me some weed but nah son we talkin' 'bout numismatics(leh nerd skin nerd)

Yeah, I forgot about this variety, but my variety knowledge isnt that great. it isnt worth a ton of money but still neat to find. I'd be better at varieties if I knew how many there were but a lot of times the number isn't really known, so I dont know if im looking for a handful of examples out of a million/billion coins made, or thousands. if I had a more precise number i'd be more inclined to check, because some varieties are really just a handful out of the millions or billions minted that year.

There are a ton of penny varieties, the most well known being the 1955 Double Die Obverse(DDO), to where remembering them all would painful. There are several quarter varieties as well, mostly in the state quarters.

My friend scoped it out in my change, I forgot all about it this thing as well as me not being very good at state quarter varieties in general(kansas "in god we rust" and wisconsin extra leafed corn stalk come to mind)

It is a 1999 P Delaware "spitting horse" variety. You can see it with the naked eye just barely, though a scope(10x) reveals it is the spitting horse. Hidden in plain site.

There is a picture below but basically on these varieties, at the tip of the horses mouth on the obverse side there is a die crack error shooting outward, hence "spitting horse". You can tell it is a die crack error and not post mint damage because most PMD go inward, ie a scratch or gouge whereas a die crack goes outward, because of a crack in the die that "stamps" the coins into place, it gets filled up with material.

So, what's it worth? at the high end, if its a nice coin and the line is long enough to cut through the text "ceasar rodney" or reach the rim, $20. For mine? with a medium sized peni- i mean die crack and in average circulated condition for a $20 year old quarter? maybe 5 bucks.

My bill collection is just US bills. I have some foreign bills but they're just things I have gathered throughout the years and they arent a part of my collection as they have no value(face or otherwise) to me.

I do collect coins as well. What I save in terms of coins are: anything silver, anything that is rare(such as the 1939 D nickel I found the other day, second lowest nickel mintage for Jefferson), possible errors/varieties(such as my friend found in a jar I had a 1999 Delware Spitting Horse variety worth at most $20 bucks or so) and anything that catches my eye.

As far as bills I save a lot of stuff: any star notes I see that I can afford to hold, any bill with a fancy/cool serial number, anything old, any possible errors and all kinds of stuff. In this I have a lot of cull that exists to pad my collection but isnt worth much.

In terms of age, for $1 bills I want everything pre 2003A series, as that is where they begin to become uncommon. 2003 or 2003A notes are unlikely to become worth a lot of money, and most of mine are in poor condition but I like hoarding. For other denominations I want at least one of every year I can find, though none of these rules are hard rules, but I try to adhere to them as much as I can.

Everything I own coin or paper wise was either a gift, or something I got for face value, so this collection cost its face value or less, so I havent lost any money but I do have the potential to make more money than its face value.

My manager at work has lost 70 pounds. down from 240 to 170 He's on the short side, around 5'7"

The other day somebody else said "He should stop losing weight, he's going to look unhealthy"

Uhh, what? the average healthy weight for somebody of his height is like 140 or so(Im guessing), and while his progress has been amazing, if he wants to lose more weight good for him.

I guess the shock of seeing somebody who was always big be skinnier can cloud peoples judgement. But saying he will look unhealthy if he loses more weight seems very wrong to me, since at 170 he is actually still "overweight"

In addition to watching his calories he has made an effort to eat healthier, too. he isnt just eating 2,000 calories a day of fattening, sugary goodness so i find this sentiment even more bizarre

I learned about weed being a gateway drug in health class, and now that I use weed a lot it isn't true 95% of the time. The other 5% are people who had to go through shady people to get weed and generally while ive never had anybody push harder things on me, it is possible some people will get weed users addicted. But its rare, as far as I am aware, and going through shady people to get weed would be fixed with legality.

I've tried a few other things, like acid twice and mushrooms twice, but i've never once had the urge to do heroin, meth, or anything else, because a weed high isn't just a weaker meth or heroin high, its a completely different type of high so it isnt even comparable in the way, say, a wine is weaker than vodka. They both will get you drunk, the vodka much faster. Weed and heroin aren't comparable.

By the end of the year I should have over 1,000 bills.

THE STATS:

951 bills
$2,409
average face value per bill: $2.50

$1 - 762 notes
$2 - 106
$5 - 33
$10 - 12
$20 - 30
$50 - 5
$100 - 3

I keep thinking I want to take a lot of cull and spend it on something or turn it into something else, but I have yet to do so, because I havent had a need to do so. Some day I might, though seeing my collection reduce in size(even if its for a good reason) worries me...in the sense I know i'll be sad for a moment but ultimately whatever.

Off the top of my head, I don't know because I know very little about foreign currency. You may find stuff that is official legal tender, but mainly meant to be collectible, but the largest US coins that were in general circulation in their day are the big dollar coins

Here are the stats for an eisenhower dollar

Mass
Copper/nickel-clad:
~22.68 g (350 gr)
Silver clad:
~24.624 g (380 gr)

Diameter38.1 mm (1.5 in)
Thickness2.58 mm (0.1 in)

Other countries have to have this beat, though i've never seen any general circulation foreign coins that are larger, but again, i dont actively collect or research foreign money unless I find it randomly and it could be valuable/made of precious metal, such as my 1947 canadian king george the whatever silver dime.

When I did one for my dad(2014, cancer) I really mentioned the good traits, good times, and stories personal to me, such as how one of my earlier dad memories was watching the 1998 world cup. I knew what it meant to be a father. he was a mail carrier who worked his way into the office in later years, getting up before 5AM to deliver mail but also support his family like a parent is supposed to.

I recounted the good times and good stories. I didnt have anything negative to talk about since even when things weren't great, I could often times see the purpose in what was going on, and compared to people with home lives that were actually negative overall I can't even complain. However if my dad was terrible I feel like i'd at least have to include something in there about it. But thats leagues above my dad. And that doesn't even apply because your dad was great.

Just explain how awesome he was(which im sure he was), and what it meant to be his son(he never stopped supporting you, for one). there isn't a set way to go about it. If he had a song or story he loved, you could maybe play or read those as well.

I havent gone board hunting in a long time, but it used to be fun to click on random games on obscure systems to see what was out there. Used to be, back in the day, if you wanted your own board you could find an obscure, unused one and claim it. This did nothing officially, but people did have boards to themselves/with friends that way. I remember some of the "cool" kids on the first board I was a regular on(FF9 social board for ps1) had a second board they posted on, and I searched for it and actually stumbled upon it fairly easily, though I have long forgotten what it was called. The only name(Outside of a handful of FF9 SB regulars) I can recall from it was Scum. Does anybody else recall a user named Scum?

with thousands and thousands of games, i am pretty much going to assume some weird stuff happens in the depths of this website.

This is happening at record pace.

I signed a CD from Poland named Lukasz Gwiazda. He has accounted for like 3 of em, and while his personality is "balanced" and his agression is low and composure is decent.

Ive probably given up less than 6 in a season plenty of times before, so this is really strange but I'll count it as another FM oddity i've played long enough to see. I've personally had some super rare stuff happen, such as seeing a GK of mine goal kick it into the other net like Tim Howard, a penalty shootout that was...something like 20+ rounds, shattering the real life record. I won. my GK in another penalty shootout stopped all his shots in a 3-0 victory. clean shots, not cheap ones either.

Penalties are bad luck, I have no reason to assume the game is doing this for some nefarious reason or a glitch. I don't know.

I want to keep playing this guy because he can jump really high, but this is making it difficult.
