I once wrote to the NJ DOT to ask them what UV images should be visible on their DLs, because I've seen several versions: state outline visible, state symbol visible, and nothing.

My ID checking guide 2021 doesn't have UV images in their section for NJ(It has most states, but not NJ). NJ is the most common out of state ID I get.

The response back was a link somebody found on google that DIDNT EVEN ANSWER MY QUESTION.

Do...does New Jersey not have any official internal sources/references for what should be a basic question with a basic answer?

My hope of getting an official answer from somebody at the AZ dot is non existent.

I saw that. It doesn't quite answer my question. The OP there is talking about his having no EXP date, not 00/00/0000. They are saying that field is blank.

That gives me clarification their ID cards do not expire(in some cases), but I see nothing about my specific example.

It's hard to find information on this because when I try to convey to google or bing I am asking about Identification cards, and not drivers licenses not expiring, and they're all like

HEY DIDJA KNOW ARIZONA DRIVERS LICENSES EXPIRE WHEN THE HOLDER IS 65?

The only images I see with no EXP date on AZ Identification cards are sample images with no EXP date. it is blank, not even having 00/00/0000

I understand since these are sample images, they may not have anything listed there for that reason alone. I also understand people aren't very willing to post a photo of their actual ID on the internet for all to see, as well.

I want to get to the bottom of this mystery....

Now, this wasn't an Arizona Drivers license. It was a non driving ID card. Not sure of the exact type, though. I've had one in the past like this, and yesterday one of my employees was presented with one. (I have a tendency to combine instances when retelling stuff, but in reality I've seen this type of ID once myself and an employee of mine also, but I did not look at it when they had it as I was busy at that moment).

Now, I decided to serve them because the birth date showed they were over 21, and I feel like having the EXP date on an ID as 00/00/0000 would be the dumbest way to fake it, since it scans as that as well and my machine automatically rejects it as it would any expired ID. I figured since AZ has some quirks with their DLs and IDs, it was probably a quirk. I am wanting an actual definitive answer, though, so I can make the correct choice in the future.

There is little to no risk this would affect my job, but I still want to learn these ID quirks so I can be correct, even if the two times we've taken these IDs and accepted them isn't likely to hurt us in any way.

It looked legit. The expiration date was 00/00/0000.

Now, Arizona is weird with their IDs. They(excluding I think updated Real ID) expire when the holder is 65...so a lot of them will say, like "2/17/2043"

But WHY did this ID card have an actual expiration date of zero?

The only reference I could find on the topic was a random site saying a minor ID card doesn't expire, but the holder needs to get a new photo every 12 years.

I've seen nothing else, let alone, the Arizona DOT or any other government agency saying anything about it.

I served em because they were old enough, and I figure there is no way they would make a fake ID with an expiration date that scans as 00000000. Or they swindled me hard....

I've gone through the motions of crying when sad or upset or frustrated, but I am not really an emotional guy, so no tears and not actual crying.

However, things have been happening here that excite me but also make me sad.

When my sister was 16, she had a child, who was put up for adoption. I am an uncle. Now, there doesn't seem to be bad blood or drama, just my sister couldn't take care of a kid that young, but a loving family adopted him. a few years ago she tried to get in contact with him, and she did, and now she is visiting here and they are bonding and having a great time. I never really talked about this with anybody in my family. I knew about it, but it wasn't a topic of conversation very often, even if the situation was pretty healthy. So, I haven't thought about this situation in a while, but now that it's here, it's hit me really hard.

Two days ago I met him for the first time. I never really thought about it before...but dang now that I have met him I am SO GLAD. I've made a new life long friend!

Today my sister told me he is feeling sad because she is going back home tomorrow, and that made me want to cry. And, when I drove home from the pizza place we were at, I did cry almost the entire way back(I was alone).

Why? Because...while my sister and him seem to have the foundation for a good relationship, the fact he's going to feel it when she leaves made me want to comfort him. And, I know now my duty is to treat him like a bother from this day forward!

And boy does that make me happy!

Early internet was cool in the sense it was new and kind of like a wild west...though I am talking say from 1993/4/5...which is when I started, so I don't know about true early internet in its actual infancy.

but it was neat before everything became "the same" and more "normie" Some bad(slow ass internet, pages would take minutes to load, etc) but a lot of good as well. Overall, I'd take a mix of both, but I can't remember a ton about early internet to say if I really want some of that coming back.

Some are bad, some are good. I think overall they are mostly good/great movies.

I like them because they are serious and silly sometimes. a good mixture of both. But, I don't think even the best ones is necessarily a top tier action movie.
