I agree. I always look at the rules to see if my post fits. Some subs though either have no or little rules even posted, in which case I say make a judgement call and hope for the best.

The flipside also makes me angry: when a post goes against the rules but it still stays. Because that's how subs turn to shit, but people get threads deleted for basic stuff like not formatting the title of a post exactly the way it should be but sometimes things blatantly against the rules stay.

edit: it started with just 1,000 I was totally okay with losing, then I felt like I didn't want to actually lose it since I bought at a bad time(40 cents), then I kept plunking more in to get my average down. One thing that has always pissed me off is how if a coaster is too intense nobody will ride it. I'd make all these sick ass coasters and nobody would ride it.

People write off "screamo" as a genre but this 22 minute album has so much emotional complexity. If you dont like screaming good luck i guess but otherwise...esch track has some notable parts. The anxiety ridden end part to "this is a hostage situation" to the entirety of the instrumental "punch for puch" to the opening of "monday morning quarterbacks" with its hauntingly jazzy intro, the quiet and emotional opening to "staring down the barrel of limited options" which doesn't hide being about suicide, to the fiery closing lyric of "never say everything is going to be okay"

I'm not sure what else to say. If you like punk and can tolerate screaming vocals to any degree check it out. 9 songs in 22 minutes. You wont be let down.

Grant Hart of Husker Du is really good, and he sings while drumming and played barefoot a lot.

My favorite dummer is Damon Che of Don Caballero. Very Technical, very weird, very innovative. He plays a style of drumming that is technical but loose at the same time, and on the record "American Don" he is playing vs real bass and guitar and looped effects, but it sounds so effortless.

Other good drummers I like: Steve Lamos(American Football), John Stanier(Battles, Helmet, Tomahawk), Brendan Canty(Rites of Sping, Fugazi), You also have to give a shoutout to William Goldsmith. Most known for his work in Sunny Day Real Estate, a 90s act that inspired tons of bands. Dave Grohl picked him out to be a member of the Foo Fighters, but he only ended up doing some of the drums on the first album before being canned.
