Pikachu no longer needs the anime to stay popular. He's up there with Mickey Mouse and Hello Kitty as eternal and recognizable now. Maybe in 15-20 years there might need to be a concentrated injection of Pikachu but a drip feed is fine for now

i would not call Yelena "boring" but I am not a huge fan of her character. I guess she could be worse? she's too "MCU joke-y" for me but that's a complaint about basically every character now

i'm not sure if nintendo is as into multi-media brand consistency and synergy as much as sega is with Sonic. doesn't seem to be a priority for them but maybe that will change soon?

thought I could live w/o voice acting but it REALLY would have helped add some gravitas to the ending sequences if done well. kind of bummed overall that we don't have at least partial VO. we know they can afford it

GameFreak is not a huge company and obviously parts of it are not well managed. I'm sure they don't want to outsource the VO so maybe the idea of creating a VO department out of nothing is too daunting and/or time consuming at this point?

really don't like that all major encounters in the Victory Road storyline lead to a very obvious terrastalization of their last pokemon into a pure tera-type that is always "as advertised" (such as bug gym does bug, ice gym does ice, etc). Makes it incredibly easy to prep a 1-hit KO and makes the big "finale" section of the fights with the different music seem very anti-climactic every single time

give me some more overpowered dual types with surprising moves dammit

they come in a variety of sizes. there's an NPC (forget who/where) that tells you if your pokemon is above or below average size

I think GameFreak knew he would be a hit. There's that response you can give Geeta when she asks where you want to fight Nemona, "Larry's Restaurant." She also asks at one point who your favorite gym leader is and if you say Larry she actually looks disappointed which is hilarious

you know what really sucked? when all older AVGN thumbnails got updated to be the "stock" thumbnails with the angry face instead of the classic art

I know a guy who does con security. He really likes power rangers and has been one of the people assigned to JDF (on top of his personal security of course. and also being an award winning MMA fighter) about 5 times now

He always told me JDF was a real sweetheart but was distinctly JDF when behind the scenes, but when he could go out to interact with the crowd he would be 100% Tommy because he knew that's what people wanted/expected. He would be "Tommy" for hours; my friend tells me while a lot of celebs just sign for an hour or two JDF would sign for 8-10 hours straight with no breaks to try to make as many people happy as possible

he told me that by the end JDF would look absolutely exhausted, probably from keeping up "kayfabe" so long from being "Tommy." makes you wonder where his mental health was at

Flamingos are my second favorite animal irl and I was stoked that we finally got a flamingo pokemon

very upset, fiance found a shiny kirilia and a shiny sneasel in the same day while just casually walking around. she also got the family of four Maushold on her first shot. Meanwhile I can't even get a good natured Rotom to spawn

the no customization for clothes outside of accessories pisses me off more than the shitty performance

at this point I expect this game to run like hot trash. but something I did not expect was for them to cut back on character customization so heavily. absolutely inexcusable. I am now expecting them to drop a ton of DLC for outfits in a few months

been fucking around, beat 2 gyms, 1 titan, 1 star base

having a blast. technical issues suck but it's still a fun game.
