ZaziGuado 12/12/20 3:21:16 PM #45 | Xiahou Shake posted... Judgment is basically the Mandalorian of the Yakuza world. It's the same universe - 99% in Kamurocho - but zoomed in to a much smaller scale. It's extremely cool since it gives you a totally different view of the universe; most of what happens would be zero threat to someone like Kiryu but since you're not playing as a legendary underworld superhero the city actually feels extremely dangerous/threatening when the wrong people get pissed at you. Neat. I also like the private eye role the protagonist supposedly has. Instead of letting fists do the talking, it'd be refreshing to do some sleuthing in the Yakuza universe. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

I really do not like the genre, but the look and reported feel of Ori is tempting. ZaziGuado 12/07/20 3:05:21 PM #12 | I'm eager to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon, but I'm one of those people who much prefers to play all the games in a series if I can help it, and seeing as how I'm three games deep into Yakuza, I'm stuck waiting until I get to that point. Hades is good stuff. I didn't have it in me to finish the post-credits content (though maybe someday I will), but I really appreciated the take on the genre. I don't play a lot of rouge-whateverthisis's, but the way the narrative lend itself to it was the most appealing part of it for me. I could really go for a fresh Musou game, but I have no desire to seek out Hyrule Warriors or Age of Calamity because I don't have an attachment to Zelda, and especially BotW. Here's hoping the rumors of P5 Scramble are true! --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

That game seems to do some neat things from what I've heard her say about it and she was really jazzed when the released the latest map. ZaziGuado 11/26/20 11:15:40 PM #5 | Iowa is going to have one of the top offenses in the nation easily. Garza will be a huge factor in that (he's score 20+ in his past 17 or so straight games), but he is surrounded by a lot of legit offensive weapons that can take advantage of any extra attention he may receive. The concern is, and always has been, the defense. The goal is to get the defense to somewhere around 50th in the nation. At that point I can start believing this team will live up to the hype. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

ZaziGuado 11/19/20 2:35:42 PM #49 | Haven't played much from this year. Answer is probably Persona 5 Royal, especially if you've never played the original, but it could be Hades or 13 Sentinels. The storytelling of 13 Sentinels is definitely worth experiencing, though you should go in expecting that to be where you get the bulk of your entertainment. The gameplay, while probably having more depth than I give it credit for, can feel a bit lacking. But it's all worth it for the narrative. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

Topic | Looking for insight from Pacific Northwest people, specifically Seattle |
ZaziGuado 11/02/20 8:28:20 PM #7 | The time we would be there is most likely around the February to May window. I guess I should've mentioned that. I'm not too worried about meeting new people. If it happens, great, but pandemic concerns maybe possibly probably still being a thing at that time I wasn't expecting anything like. And smiling at strangers but not engaging with them is right up my alley and my preferred interaction, so there would be no adjustment for me on that respect. Seattle does have a reputation for weather, so I've been curious of that. I don't mind the rain too much, but I do appreciate the sun. Cloudy days can leave me melancholy, and it sounds like that could be problematic. I think my ideal would be to live in the city but have easy access to my car to go exploring the landscapes around the area. The main reason I've always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest is because of the reports of stunning visuals. Not sure what the parking situation is like in Seattle. I assume it's like most big cities in which it's difficult the closer to downtown you get. I've always felt out of my element driving in the heart of cities, so that's also a spot of anxiety for me, but it can't really be avoided too much. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |
Topic | Looking for insight from Pacific Northwest people, specifically Seattle |
ZaziGuado 11/02/20 7:22:04 PM #1 | My wife and I may be taking a multi-month "vacation" of sorts to the Pacific Northwest, and right now Seattle is getting the hardest look. Without diving into the back story, we will be in the position where she can keep working remotely at her well-paying job while also getting a retention bonus which should make the finances manageable. We want this to serve as a transitional period for us to do something we've never done before we move and "settle down", as they say. Without really knowing anything about the city as of this point, I guess the insight I'm looking for is as follows: --What's the cost of living like? We aren't too worried about finances, but it's worth knowing if I should be prepared to get a part-time job for the 2-3 months we would be there or if we should be very mindful of our budget. --Where should we consider looking for housing? This is still in the preliminary phases, but as far as a general area to set up shop, what should we consider? Is living in the city proper worth it? Is it easy to get into the city from the suburbs, preferably without having to drive a vehicle very far? Are there any "destination" living spots that we could consider looking into? --Are there any culture shocks that a couple of lifetime Midwesterners should be aware of? I dunno. I'm just looking for any information on a part of the country I've always wanted to go to, however am nervous now that I'm being presented with the reality that it may be possible and for an extended period of time. I think there are a number of people in this community that inhabit the Seattle area, or the PNW in general that I thought I could gain some knowledge here. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

ZaziGuado 10/28/20 6:53:05 PM #46 | I played RF4 Remastered as my first experience with the game and series in general. It was okay but I never got that sand joyful feeling I did playing a Harvest Moon 64 or Stardew Valley. Neither the farming or the combat seemed fleshed out enough.
