Damn I forgot about the scene. Like any kid's dream.

I still remember that movie The Kid with The XRay Glasses when he was searching for treasure on the beach with his see-through glasses and comes across the hot lifeguard chick and sees her naked. I was like man, if only. This would have been a similar case.

But yeah, the actress oversold that scene lol. Im sure there was a way she could have done it to seem less creepy.

What do you feel went wrong with the Boeing 737 Max?

Oh boy.

Boeing needed a plane to compete with the Airbus A320neo.

They rushed it because time was of the essence, they would lose orders unless they came up with a competitive product.

So they made the MAX, putting very large engines on what was essentially a 50 year old design.

The engines had a tendency to make the plane pitch up, a stall inducing move.

They did the MCAS software to pitch the nose down.

For some reason they felt like they didn't need to pilots about this.

And then, disaster.

Good man, you know your stuff.

I educate pilots and have been in aviation for 10 years. Nice to meet another aviation enthusiast.

For real, though. The only thing I am aware of that compares is the dressing rooms/bathrooms backstage for theater folks. Those are usually pretty stacked with couches and dressers and stuff, but it's only because people are busy doing costume changes and such there.

So I guess now that I think about it, this isn't the first time I've been in a gender neutral bathroom, as our theater used co-ed bathrooms and dressing rooms during shows. But during the stress of a performance, you aren't even thinking about it.

The problem is you only hear of relationships in two instances:

- It is full of drama
- They are overcompensating with the lovey dovey crap because there is drama behind the scenes

In both situations only unhealthy relationships tend to make themselves known in public and on social media, so it looks a lot worse than it is.

Happy couples generally shut up about it. They enjoy each other's presence and don't care if the world knows it or not.

So you hear about the bad relationships but rarely hear about the genuinely good ones.

I was out of town for a conference and went to the restroom to wash my hands. There was only one bathroom on the floor and it said "gender neutral".

I assumed it was a single-occupancy unisex bathroom but to my surprise, it was a public bathroom. It had stalls, multiple sinks, and a lounge area. As soon as I walk in, there is a woman just sitting in the lounge area reading a book. For a second, I freak out and think I read the sign wrong and walked into the women's restroom.

But she glances over at me as I come in, then goes right back to reading her book as if it's nothing. I quickly washed my hands and left.

Firstly, I am not sure if I would have been mentally prepared to use one of those stalls with a woman reading a book just a few feet away.

Second, who reads a book in a public restroom?

Thirdly, since when do bathrooms have lounges? I told my wife about this and she laughed and said it is more common than not for women's restrooms to have lounges. Guys, we've been missing out.

Hitchcock and Scully become series regulars starting Season 2 so they get more character development later on.

I honestly didn't give this show a chance at first because of Andy Samberg. I generally find him annoying and unfunny. But this show and that role were made for him. He makes the role work and the rest of the cast works really well with him.

Like I said, it doesn't have to be so Doom and Gloom. Look at the finale to the office. Andy doesn't succeed but he still gets a silver lining. Creed gets arrested which is completely in character. There are still little bits of drama and imperfection in what otherwise is a happy ending, which I think gives it more depth.

You don't need to change the tone of the series. For example, having Tom's Restaurant fail but rather than have him become rich writing a book have him show that he learned his lesson from all of the earlier seasons. Rather than get depressed like he used to, have him say that the restaurant taught him a lot of valuable lessons and he has some new ideas that he thinks will be even more successful. Have a scene with jean-ralphio's entire family on the Maury Show screaming at each other because they have gone broke or something like that.

lol, that would have been made amazing.

Good points, overall.

I can see why people don't like that the show has such a clean ending. But for the type of show that it is, I think it fits. Parks and Rec was always a positive show. I would have been more pissed if they pulled a How I Met Your Mother and completely changed the tone that the series was known for.

That's also what I hated so much about Chuck. The show was overall so positive, and every season finale was heartwarming. Then the actual series finale leaves an unnecessary cliffhanger that robs you of you of the same fuzziness of every other season finale.

Call me a romantic, but I want my positive shows to have a positive ending. Leave the ambiguous/realistic endings to shows like Lost or Prison Break.

Basically romantic tearjerker movies.

However, this movie feels overall more positive than those and the message is less "love conquers all" and more like "learn to love yourself and see the good you can do in the world".

I thought it was sweet. It at least had a full conclusion and showed you the lives of the characters after their last hurrah. It made them feel more real as people than your traditional "here's our final moment together" scene since we all know that reunions can happen.

Better than making an annoying open-ended, cliffhanger ending like many long-running shows like to do.

You can tell how far into the show someone is by how opinionated they are about Eleanor being in the Good Place.

This.

Also, the show itself is very refreshing and unique as far as 30 minute comedies go.

- This is a heavily-serialized comedy. You don't really see much of that anymore. While you may be able to enjoy an episode on its own, they are not really made to be episodic and they heavily rely on the overall narrative
- The show has no filler. Every episode advances the plot, sometimes dramatically (time skips are common). This is also helped by the short seasons.
- The show relies heavy on philosophy, often teaching you, the viewer, at least one philosophical principle per episode through the exploits of the characters
- The show is full of twists, from the very first episode forward. Just when you think you figured out where the plot is heading, they turn it upside down and surprise you
- The character chemistry is really good. Eleanor (Kristen Bell) plays off really well with Michael (Ted Danson). The rest of the cast is also great, and only get mildly annoying at times.
- Lastly, and this is just my personal view that others may disagree, but this show manages to to take a concept and repeat it over and over again without it getting old and tiring by presenting it in new ways. Specifically, I am referring to (huge spoilers ahead; don't read if you plan to watch this show) Constantly redoing the "good place" experiment, either by wiping the main characters' memories repeatedly or repeating the experiment with a new group of people

On another note, by the end of each season, I keep thinking that the writers have written themselves into a corner plot-wise, but somehow they manage to pull off a whole new season of material without getting stale.

Ehh, it just feels so smaller scale than season 5. Which is weird considering the world-ending plot.

It's just the first half of the season was such a slow burn. The nice thing about Seasons 4 and 5 of Agents of Shield was that the pacing was quick. They got from one crisis to the next with little filler/padding.

A lot of Season 6 felt like setup. I think it gets a bit better in the second half, but overall I felt it was a step down from Seasons 4 and 5.

Though I will say it has some of the funniest episodes in the series. The episode with Jemma and Daisy high on alien drugs and the Fitz and Simmons dream shenanigans were pretty funny.

I thought it was deeper than the premise made it seem. You do see the twist coming fairly early in the movie but it doesn't take the impact away.

At the very least it subverts most romantic tropes and ends very differently than your traditional movie. Overall it's a feel-good movie that has you smiling at the end.

I see you're sick of SM3DW. How are you with the other 4-player Mario games? New Super Mario Bros Deluxe is out on the switch and has great 4-player co-op.

I know you said that the MUA3 wasn't your type of game, but I definitely recommend it if you are just looking for something new. I never played 1 or 2 so I don't have a basis of comparison, but MUA3 with 4 players is some of the funnest I've had in years. And one of our players isn't even a Marvel fan. It's just fun to work together to get through the stages and go through the story.

Trine 4 is a cool 2.5D adventure game with 4-player co-op. It was just released this October. And I think the other Trines allow up to 3-player co-op.

Rayman Legends is another great 4-player co-op platformer, rivaling the NSMB games. Especially the music stages are hilarious with a group of 4.

Plus, there was virtually no marketing for it outside of gaming circles.

So the average consumer either didn't know it existed, or assumed it was a peripheral for the Wii.

Do you want the sauce? Who the fuck orders chicken teriyaki and doesn't want teriyaki sauce on it? Otherwise it's just a plain grilled chicken.

I think it's because they cook the chicken with the sauce, making it teriyaki chicken. So if you want more sauce dripped over it, it's teriyaki chicken with teriyaki sauce. But yeah, still weird they have you ask for it. Would make more sense that they put it on unless you ask them not to.

I'm also surprised no one else here eats the honey walnut shrimp. It's not something I've seen in other restaurants and tastes good.
