I forgot what warp panels looked like so I got into the room only to find nothing there - went back in again later to see a message saying the warp had been closed for like 1 minute, so I tried again

I'm so glad I didn't have to land on this thing

Shit, the sun station is so great. First time in the game I've said "fuck, this is so cool" out loud. Read the warning last, telling me I only had 1 minute before the station was destroyed, so having collected all the information I GTFO of there and propelled myself through space back onto Ash Twin, which felt pretty cool

That said, it seems a little bit like a dead end in terms of making progress - although the computer saying it was the end of the natural life cycle is a little bit concerning. Oh well, I have many other leads to chase up - including going back to Dark Bramble and exploring the cavern city again.

Went back and talked with Chert before the end of the loop - he's panicked! All the stars are dying, not just this one. Nice to see some changes in dialogue.

Well.

Found a very large tower in Ash Twin with those spiky balls blocking an elevator. I fired a scout into the elevator, doesn't look like there's much up there but I still really want to get in there

Also found my way into the shelter on Ember Twin. Found some stuff in there, probably more to find though. It filled with sand so quickly! I found my way through it but ended up at the Gravity Cannon and was unable to re-enter. Will try again to explore more of that place, I guess.

Using the ship log to reset what I know and what I need to pursue

Got in there just as the room was starting to empty of sand, but got killed by the spike balls - I think I rushed it, will try again

So I want to explore the twins now. Looked at one of them already a bit, now waiting 10m at the fire so some of the sand will have migrated over from the other one.

Aaaand crashed into the sun when I was distracted by some kind of satellite orbiting it. Gonna look at that first if I can stick the landing.

I really wanna visit the quantum moon but feel like I don't have the necessary knowledge to do so yet. I need to actually get into that gravity tower

I guess those red fish are anglerfish; I found something to do with that on one of the twins, a fossil or something, and one of the notes in the Hollow I think said that fossil could provide information on how to deal with them? I think? I need to actually do something with the Giant's Deep core at some point

I guess I got lucky with this; once I was inside the Bramble, I put the signal locator on and just kept launching myself through the gaps until I was almost right next to him. Was very quick.

Game reminds me of Myst a bit. Same feeling of a grandiose mystery, but feels smaller. Cozy? Probably something to do with the music. I'm still frustrated with the controls now and then, though getting better, but this is good shit and very different

Got down there and...red jellyfish...core of the planet was electrified...got nothing. Wow, disappointing

Also found what I assume is the quantum moon, flew right through it

Then went to Dark Bramble. Found Feldspar. Dark Bramble seems like a mindfuck best left until tomorrow. Before quitting I went back to the dude on the home planet where the dark bramble seed is, but there were no extra dialogue options to mention Feldspar being alive. Shame

I like this even though I feel like I'm making slow progress.

Alright so I found the statue room. I guess I should have gone there earlier but whatever. It's about sharing memories or something? But it helps explain what I saw in the mine - masks. Hammock dude is also in the loop and taught me to meditate until the next loop. Handy.

Also found an island on giant's deep with a red creature encased. I couldn't get inside it or interact with it, felt like a waste of time. There was ghost matter there though so I thought it might be something.

Two avenues to explore next time - the path to the observatory, so hopefully I can build something that goes beneath the surface of giant's deep, and also the Moon which I didn't visit yet.

Also there's some ghost matter on hammock dude's island - I was in the corridor containing it when a cyclone hit and I got thrown THROUGH it, barely survived, so thought I could explore what I'm missing there - but then I died upon landing. Half-tempted to try that again

OK so

Probably packing this in for the night but here we go:

Went to the planet it told me to go to first, the one with the guy in the hammock whose name escapes me. Found him, then went looking for the island he talked about, but accidentally landed up in some ghost water and died

Then flew into the sun on purpose for fun

Then went to another planet with a dome on the bottom. found the entrance, door was broken. was going to go to the equator to find the other entrance he talked about but died on the way back to the ship

Then stayed on my own planet and found the mine. Translated stuff talking about the Ash Twin project. Put the stone into the plinth, and Nomai faces rose up around me, lit up, but it reset when it approached them. Then found a scroll and tried to take that to there to see if it changed anything but it didn't, then got looped out. Felt like I reached the end of that for now.

So I guess I have two avenues to explore, one on the cyclone planet and one on the planet with the dome (I will learn these names eventually)

Edit: Oh yeah! I also fired a scanner into the bramble thing and it ended up somewhere else. Cool.
This could be really interesting. I'm looking forward to finding out more, but struggling a bit with the controls, particularly when flying.

Just Cause 4

As usual with JC, messing around with stuff and causing mayhem/explosions was great fun, then the missions happened and, like, "eh".

But playing with the boosters and balloons gave me some really mischievously enjoyable moments. Fairly short campaign so once I was ready to be done with it, I was able to finish quite quickly. Had no inclination to do the majority of the side missions or anything of that nature. Looked nice as well.

I have to say, 22 minutes is a lot longer than I thought - I felt like I spent ages playing Hide and Seek and then doing the Zero-G repairs, so went up to the observatory to watch the explosion

It not being UotY is exactly why it wasn't a bad idea. People were more chill about it

It's a tedious thing to run and the core, established voterbase was not going to change - people were fairly relaxed about it and weren't too interested in rallying. Golden Parcel was proof of that. The top 3 were getting further and further away and I don't blame Zazi for having that thought at all given the length of the contest.

Also nicely foreshadowed an episode or two earlier if I remember correctly - Kim takes a nap in her car, sets a 5-minute alarm and the show abruptly cuts to the alarm going off and her waking up suddenly

And honestly whether you see it coming or not, it's horrific to watch because Kim is so great =(

A bunch of games from the PS2 era, probably... the catch-22 here is in trying to remember games I end up remembering quite a bit about them, as just happened with Second Sight. Maybe Black, an FPS I remember being good but unremarkable

Probably Just Cause 2 then? I can't even remember where it was set or anything particular about it, just it being pretty fun. Maybe InFamous? I got it free after the Sony hack in 2011, but can't remember anything else about it apart from standard InFamous stuff.
