So Hello Happy World have been my least favorite band both music and character-wise (aside from Misaki and Kanon, I like them both a lot)....but they serve their purpose well. In-universe, they're the group that appeals to kids, and with all the seriousness that happens with the other bands, it nice to have one that's over-the-top silly. They practice a ton, do wayyyy more actual musical sequences, but they're pretty much professional idols from the very second they get on stage. Yeah it's only when they practice when they show any weakness like getting tired out. The reason why the dance sequences have to look so good from the get go is because it's often what gets used for the choreography in the actual live performances, so that stuff has to get replicated even as unrealistic as it seems in-universe (the Yohane anime was a big offender of this). But with BanG Dream (and probably Girls Band Cry as well) their lives are just them playing songs like any band performing on a tour would. BanG Dream is a case where it's the game that adapts the anime plot (even S1-3), but so much of the story (especially for the other bands) is told through the game. I may have exaggerated a bit with the Season 1 animation, but I remember some shots looking really weird especially because of how their eyes are drawn. Though maybe they really did clean it up with the blu-rays. I think I watched it through Crunchyroll. | WhiteLens 05/07/24 4:30:16 PM #260 | I'll explain a few things about Ave Mujica from the last page as someone who follows the franchise that may shed some light to why episode 13 of MyGO is the way it is.
So when Ave Mujica was first unveiled, only the characters' stage names were given. They were pretty much an unknown to the community. Then the MyGO anime started to air and people noticed some of the characters shown looked like members from Ave Mujica, and that's when it was picked up on that they would be part of this anime too. So people were able to piece out that: Oblivionis = Sakiko (Keyboard) Doloris = Uika (Vocal and Guitar) Mortis = Mutsumi (Guitar) Timoris = Umiri (Bass) Amoris = Nyamu (Drums) Now here's the thing, throughout the time the anime was airing, the Ave Mujica VAs only announced that they were voicing their characters as the character and not the stage name even though it was obvious to the fans who was who. So you get a Superman/Clark Kent situation. Now episode 13 comes along Ave Mujica has suddenly formed, each character says their stage name, and now the VAs can formally announce which member they are despite it being no surprise. So in the end it was a big marketing thing and a setup for the next season. I'll say that in the game, there's a retelling of the MyGO anime story and it ends where episode 12 ends. So episode 13 really was meant as a bonus. Robazoid posted... I mentioned earlier that Rui from Morfonica was my least favorite BanG Dream franchise character. That position has now been taken by Rana. Ugh, she's so lame. She's just a pale imitation of Hina (instantly good at everything, finds other people interesting for odd reasons), except Rana added nothing to her group's dynamic. So your reason is valid, but that's Raana's thing to her character. She's like a "stray cat" that does whatever she pleases and is completely detached to all the drama that the other 4 go through. She's an outsider that barged her way into the group. Considering her flightiness, I would say they were trying to not make her too much like Tae. They play the same instrument after all. S1, I went into with pretty low expectations but I found out it to be pretty solid. I like the band formation story, but it is pretty hampered by its derpy animation. Sometimes the characters look straight-up dead on the inside. Season 1 also brings in the significance about the hints Raana drops in MyGO regarding who she's related to. It's not really something you would pick up on unless you follow the franchise. S2, here they expect the audience to play the game since all the other bands come in with only a small introduction. However, there are really only 3 bands you need to give much attention to and they are Poppin' Party, Roselia, and Raise A Suilen (and RAS doesn't even get formed in this season). Of the original 3 seasons, this is probably my favorite. I loved seeing all the bands interact in an animated way. That said it is bogged down by a pretty awful plot point and it's the one that Roba is referring to, but however bad I thought it was, it didn't break the season for me. S3.....puts a lot of focus on who's quite possibly my least favorite character in the whole franchise (and that's even taking MyGO and Ave Mujica into account). It's still fine for the most part, and I really like the ending sequence of it, but it's my least favorite season of the anime. All that said, MyGO is still my favorite out of the BanG Dream anime. Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Knights of the Old Republic Rogue Squadron Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II Basically just swapped out Super Star Wars for Rogue Leader from the unofficial topic. I don't know if Super Star Wars even gets much recognition other than a being hard game on SNES. Nominate: Call of Duty Rushmore UltimaterializerX posted... Street Fighter 2 For Tekken, I see Tekken 3 in this topic the most. For Mortal Kombat, that's the one.
