It's crazy to think, but when Mario/Link 1 happened, Ocarina of Time was only a 4 year old game. To put it into perspective, we are further removed from Link Between Worlds than 2002 was from OoT. We are almost as far removed from BotW as 2002 was from Majora's Mask.

We were also as far out from the release of the Wii U for this contest as we were from the N64 in 2002.

A couple of other matches that I hope show up are the first two Mario vs. Cronos. The first one set the precedent of removing stuffed votes, and the second one set the precedent of CJayC can pretty much arbitrarily run the match how he wants.

Man that match.

I had two things on the line in that match:
1. My fanboyism. At the time Kirby was my favorite character in gaming and remains my #2 today.
2. I was a very vocal proponent of Kirby winning that match.

That morning i had a very minor surgery to have a cyst removed from the inside of my mouth. It was very quick, I didn't even go under, just some anesthesia. Hell I went to a party later that night. But still, coming home from surgery to see Kirby destroying Tidus and headed for the Sweet Sixteen for the first time was very sweet (even predicting Kirby to win the match I thought it'd be like a 52-48 and was still just a tad uneasy).

Overall pretty good bracket. My biggest gripe is that the bottom half of D1 is pretty weak (Kirby having a good chance to win it says it all), but otherwise this is solid and I'd be all for it.

Persona as a 1 seed seems high, but I think it is in a position to do well.

Here's a snub you probably wouldn't expect - Lego. While no particular game probably reaches enough popularity to get into a games bracket, it's a large enough franchise that it could sneak into this.
