Friday night at roughly 7 PM Eastern, starting on First Snow. After that, I recently found out about Pokmon Academy Life, which looks cool. And maybe then I'll finally get around to DDLC (I'll admit, even though I'm mostly blind on that one, I've had just enough spoiled to not be looking forward to that one...although in fairness, the game's Steam page does warn you that it's a horror game in disguise.)

First Snow, on the other hand, I'm very much looking forward to, because it was written by one of the scenario writers for Katawa Shoujo. Granted, I don't know which route's writer it is, and given that FS is GL, I'm afraid it might be Shizune's which was my least favorite route. But still, VN time!

So, in the department of the stupid, when I put up the videos of yesterday's stream on YouTube, I found that the last of them got a partial copyright strike for using the melody of...A Place to Call Home from Final Fantasy IX. Not even close. The "offending part" listed is from 2:50 to 4:15, and while the music does change at 2:50...the song that starts playing at that point, Battle at the Big Bridge, continues for over 10 minutes. Plus that wasn't even its first appearance.

I even told them in my dispute claim that if they own the rights to that song too, they should feel free to file a new claim on it and I wouldn't dispute it. Because seriously, how can you confuse this:

Depends on the day. Sometimes I'm actually doing commentary, sometimes I'm just tracking.

Anyway, as I said a few posts ago, I feel like part of being a good streamer is having a set schedule, so I'm probably going to just stick with Mondays for the FFV playthrough. As for other days of the week, I was thinking about reviving my Visual Novel topic yet again, as I only just recently learned of the existence of AI: The Somnium Files, plus the last instance died before I could get around to Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice or Doki Doki Literature Club. Only problem is, AI's damn expensive, more than I want to pay for a VN, so I'm waiting for it to go on sale on Steam to pick it up. SoJ would work, but it's stuck on the 3DS, so trying to stream that would be...kind of bad. Ideally once I make affiliate, I'll just skip streaming that one entirely and do it for you guys old-school, as a pure text-based playthrough topic. And DDLC is, well...I may be relatively blind to these games but it was hard to completely ignore the implications in the 2018 Crew topic and besides there are big freaking warnings on the Steam page. I will get around to that, but again, the anxiety that I think is stemming from this affiliate push...now's not the time.

And then I remembered that, for all the shit I got about "spoilers" in playthrough topics for the first two Danganronpa games, I'd been avoiding anything related to v3 like the plague, with the intent that it, too, could be part of the VN Blind Playthrough topic. And while it's more reasonable in price than AI is...it's still double the price of something else that showed up in "other games you might like" when I went to its page. Something that's not actually a visual novel, though it's certainly not without VN elements. For that matter, while I've never played it before, I wouldn't exactly call it a "blind" playthrough, either.

The VN topic can wait. Our Thursday night game right now is Persona 4 Golden. (And yes, Thursday was going to be the plan anyway; back when I was considering just doing the AA6 playthrough topic now and streaming something else, I was going to start the actual playing tonight and then post it tomorrow. Instead, we're waiting for tomorrow because it's a huge download.)

Plus at least three times that I've scraped a parked car trying to get into a parking space, once that I pulled out of my driveway too fast and smashed a planter, twice that I pulled out of a parking space at college too quickly and backed into a wall (I maintain that those parking spaces are poorly placed; you can't even pull in further than I did because there's a steep grassy incline, and there's not that much space from the building), once when I was still learning to drive that I turned too soon and hit a curb zand once where the back end of my car was taken out in a parking lot by a van swerving to avoid someone entering the lot. TBH, I nearly forgot about the one where I actually hit a car in motion (for certain values of "in motion; it happened in a heavy traffic jam where the blinding sunrise kept me from seeingthat the brake lights came back on almost as soon as they'd turned off) because it is, quite honestly, perhaps the least consequential car accident I've ever had. I'm much worse in parking lots.

Maine-Tennessee was surprisingly a real decision. As far as the South goes, Tennessee is fairly tolerable. But up against a New England State....

First two matches are basically just anti-voting their opponents, though Oregon is legit pretty cool and I hadn't even thought about the anti-vote aspect until after I voted. Good thing it wasn't Texas vs. Utah; anti-voting Texas was pretty instinctive for me, but if I'd put any thought into it, Texas isn't nearly red enough a state to overcome the awfulness of Deseret.

Oh God that matchup of champions is so Board 8 it's painful. Umineko, Exa Pico, and Chrono, the holy trifecta of things that Board 8 overrates. It was sho tempting to just vote Dreams of the Shore song unheard, because Chrono's chronic overrating isn't actually VGMC-related, but luckily I remembered that lastendconductor is one of the few Umineko songs I can not only tolerate, but actually like. Which is good because I don't even have to listen to the Chrono song to know it's probably not my jam; I can tell by the title in conjunction with being a Square RPG. And I've got plenty of time to write this because holy crap lastendconductor. 10+ minutes?

Huh. Not as sleepy as I expected, but still pretty sleepy. Songs with "dream" right in the title are rarely promising.

Sorry, Nilin, but I don't remember you. Enough so that I nearly got the game and song title confused. I vaguely remember seeing this song title in this contest somewhere, but the song's unfamiliar. What's it doing in a bonus match? Did it get really close against one of the finalists or something? Well, thanks to that awful day where I was forced to pick between two Exa Pico songs, I vaguely remember EXEC_Z/. being pretty decent for a hymnos.

And so it is. God this day's awful when you've got 5 songs and a Hymnos is #2--and technically, I should add "#2 to an Umineko song" even though I legit love lastendconductor.

If this match came up in Round 1, I probably vote for Moonstruck Blossom, because that Exa Pico shit that Endeavour pulls in the beginning would've been an instant turnoff.

If it comes up in Round 4, I'm...not really sure, because Moonstruck Blossom isn't really that great either, so I'd be looking for any reason to vote for either of these, and I'd have found it.

But in Round 6, when you have to consider the possibility of any of these songs winning it all? There's absolutely no contest. Endeavour would be a worthy champion; Moonstruck Blossom would not.
