Ha. Expected the voting topic to be closed, but also expected new topic to be up. So is crazyisgood the only one whose ballot has been deemed to be too outlandish to be counted, or is KCF's going to be discarded as well? Because while it's certainly a tad unconventional, I'd consider KCF's close enough to be okay.

I might. Excadrill has shown almost nothing but competency since it stopped brooding, and when it does lose, it's always a sign that the foe is seriously powerful.

God, so upside-down. About the only thing right about that is Rhyperior > Serperior, and that's only from a utility standpoint because from a character design standpoint Serperior's got Rhyperior beat. The idea of suggesting that Serperior, let alone Rhyperior or Magmortar, beats out either of Unova's late-game birds is ridiculous. I'll admit that Rufflet and Vullaby are both kind of silly-looking, but once they evolve, they are totally boss.

Palmer sends out his Rhyperior, which I consider to be possibly the most pointless pokemon ever, and I don't say that lightly: I have intentionally never caught an Alomoroma because of how pointless and insulting I think it is.

Finneon and Lumineon are the worst. The absolute worst for this. Rhydon was being left behind competitively and Rhyperior was useful for that purpose.

But nothing will ever, ever, ever top Finneon and Lumineon for being absolutely worthless. I hate their design and I hate what they represent; that Game Freak can continue to waste our time with completely pointless filler Pokemon that has no worthwhile gimmick, has no special design, isn't based on a particularly interesting animal, isn't good in battle, is rare and only catchable late-game. Awful.

Meanwhile Rhyperior is cool and badass at least and Alomomola has a palindromic name and a high HP stat.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Alomomola's far worse than Lumineon. As are a number of other Gen V Pokémon. They really ran out of ideas, and some of the things you encounter out there are just plain ridiculous. Maractus is completely redundant, and Sigilyph...I'm not even sure what Sigilyph is. Then there are the ones that are almost straight-up remakes of Gen I Pokémon, only ten times uglier (Timburr line, I'm looking at you. Tympole line, too, but at least they have a typing that's different from their predecessors). Lumineon has plenty of opportunity to shine.

And Finneon's availability is no more "late-game" than any other fishing-exclusive DPP Pokémon like Barboach or Goldeen, all of which can be found on routes that you'll have passed through by the time you get the Good Rod. (Not Magikarp, because Old Rod.)

Rhydon was already usable. Not great, but usable. There are a ton of pre-Gen IV pokemon who needed an evolution more than it, or DPP could've just added a new pokemon entirely.

Rhydon was basically being left behind.

And other pokemon "needing evolution" shouldn't affect your opinion of Rhyperior at all. I hate Finneon because it's Finneon, not because they could have used it to give us an evolution of whoever.

So since the rest of this topic seems to be Rhyperior-bashing now, I guess there's nothing more for me to do but defend it. Yeah, the orange plates are ugly, but Rhyperior has rock cannons in its hands. Also, yeah, it pretty much was about making Rhydon competitive again. Gen I, Rhydon was pretty damn near top 10 in base stat totals. I mean, yeah, it was going to fall far off of that pace as soon as Special got split into two stats because now it has three bad stat categories instead of two, but this pretty much restores it to its proper place in the Pokémon hierarchy.

And so many of the other new evolutions introduced were so much worse, anyway. Seriously, did we really need Tangrowth? Probopass? Lickilicky?

So...exactly as Genesis thought, then. Or are you seriously one of those people who pronounces "Los" like "Loss". (Unless you're referring to Los Angeles, which in its full name of "La Ciudad de los Ángeles" would also be pronounced with an oh sound but, due to Anglicization, is pronounced with an aw sound in its common form.

tl;dr version: Most Americans suck at pronouncing foreign words.

And yeah, I always pronounced it as Shell-ose too.

A girl, Lulu, and her Marill come to check out the situation, and Piplup instantly falls in love with Marill, because that's how love works, I guess. Who hasn't fallen hopelessly in love with a rabbit in the first five seconds they saw it, is what I want to know.

Well, okay.

Water types. We've seen this plot before involving Brock's Lombre, remember? And one of Ash's water-types too, I think it was Totodile. Of course, Grovyle had that plot too, so it's not just water-types. Unfortunately, this one is more like Totodile than Lombre or Grovyle, because those two actually evolved during their lovesick episodes.

An Elekid pops out of the orchard and shocks Piplup, missing all of its attacks on Marill, and Ash quickly scans it with his pokedex because I guess he's never seen one before. Lulu tells the heroes that Elekid is a wild pokemon that comes around every so often and harasses her pokemon because it's a jerk, I guess, but Brock quickly realizes Elekid has the hots for Marill and picking on it is its way of saying hi. Pikachu leaps to fight it, but Piplup insists, and-- gets its ass kicked. Elekid leaves, laughing.

Again, this plot feels so recycled.

Yes, in my Pearl Version.

It was a Kricketot. Completely junk Pokémon that I wouldn't have even bothered catching if it wasn't shiny, but since it was I took the effort to at least raise it to a Kricketune.

Worst portable Zelda (not counting ports of games originally on consoles like ALttP) > best console Zelda.

...Okay, that's not completely true. I almost forgot about Minish Cap, because it was that forgettable. But yeah, my four favorite Zelda games are all portable-exclusive--Link's Awakening, the two Oracle games, and Phantom Hourglass.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Really, there's nothing else worth talking about after this, because that game was just so horrible compared to the rest of the series that anything else would either be "not bad enough" or the rest of the series would be "not good enough". Well, I've heard that Sonic 2006 could compete, but I've never actually played it and I'm not LMS so I'm not going to speak just from seeing a Let's Play (also, I never got terribly far in that Let's Play anyway.)

I guess I could mention A Link to the Past, but that wasn't actually that bad and the Legend of Zelda series was never really a huge draw for me anyway. Worst Sonic game that I actually have played? Eh...probably the original, because no Spin Dash is just plain stupid.

Meh, been running through this list quickly because the topic's already nearing 500, so I guess I'll just answer a couple of the more recent questions since a lot of the others I'm not qualified for anyway.

Favorite game that's been collecting dust: Probably Sonic Adventure 2. God, I was absolutely crazy about that game back in the day.

Favorite Star Fox 64 level: Hm, tough choice (warning: spoilers ahead!). Macbeth's pretty cool because of the awesome ending if you fulfill the requirements to go to Area 6 (and if you screw that up, you instead get possibly the toughest boss battle in the game), and I always liked Zoness (not sure why; I just do), but I think I've gotta go with Sector X.

Start with the awesome music; Sector X is my favorite soundtrack in the game, although Bolse is a close second (of course, you don't get to hear Bolse's BGM for very long because it switches over to the boss theme as soon as you finish shooting down the six force field towers), and it's also got some of the better storyline depth in the game. You get there, and the team is expecting to be attacking one of Andross's bases, but the entire thing is just wreckage and the Star Fox team has no idea why. Then they get to the end (providing that you don't take a detour into the Warp Zone--note also that this is the only stage in the game where the path splits into three rather than two) and run into Spyborg, a deranged prototype robot that went rogue and wrecked the place and is currently looking for "the creator", which is to say Andross. Also, while a sufficiently skilled player won't even get to see this, if you're still a newcomer, you might notice that something's up when the boss battle begins. Normally when one of your wingmen gets shot down, they're out for the entirety of the following stage, but if you lost Slippy on Fortuna (or Katina, but if you're good enough at this game to get to Katina you're probably good enough to not be losing wingmen outside of the Star Wolf battle on Venom), he'll unexpectedly return at the start of the battle, displaying the boss health meter like usual. And, of course, halfway through the meter suddenly drops to zero--pretty much the exact opposite of what happened in Meteo, when the boss claimed to be defeated but still had half of his life bar. So now the health bar's down to zero and the killer robot looks to be inactive...and then it comes back to life with a musical stinger and starts shaking its finger, mockingly, like "Nuh-uh-uh, don't you dare think I'm finished yet!" Yes, you are now being taunted by a robot. And there's no longer any glowing yellow target to aim at, and after just a very short time, Slippy jumps in and offers to help, and with his usual lack of competence gets swatted away and lands on the desert planet of Titania, and the end-of-level dialogue if you ended up on this route really makes you feel like things just took a serious turn for the worse. End spoilers here.

Favorite Tales of Symphonia Moment: (Okay, more spoilers here.) Wow. Truly amazing game there. Hard to top the one that you mentioned, especially if I'm limited to just the first game. (Although in fairness, the original Tales of Symphonia easily bests Dawn of the New World when it comes to dramatic moments--it's only in comedy where the sequel is able to outshine the original.) But...I think perhaps the first trip to the Tower of Salvation, the one in Sylvarant, could contend. All this time you think that you're helping to save the world, and suddenly the Tower is full of corpses and Remiel isn't really Colette's father and this entire thing has been a scam. And then right after you beat Remiel, suddenly Kratos betrays you, and at this point nobody has betrayed you yet so it comes as a surprise. Okay, enough spoilers. We're done here.
