Those straight pull AR-15s and Ruger mini 14s are a fucking joke, that shit is a horrible home defense weapon, hell its worse then a regular bolt action cause it is literally a fucking gimped firearm.

To suggest those as being viable to defend a home is not only laughable but anyone who bought one for home defense is stupid as fuck, I would not trust that fucking garbage with my life let alone the lives of my loved ones.

Its automatic and burst fire weapons that are not ideal for home defense and should require a $200 tax stamp as class 3 weapons should require permits to own.

Except class 3 weapons are piss easy to make and the case that claimed it wasn't outright unconstitutional involved a court packed by American Hitler/Stalin and a dead black man with an attorney that abandoned him because the judge that claimed it was unconstitutional and made him go to the supreme court was a former congressman that pushed for the NFA in the first place.

Also NFA items are tracked by the ATF, so you have to tell them far in advance that you're taking them to the range or else they'll kill you.

Little note on the Mini-14, those were supposed to replace the M14 as a service rifle (they were changing calibers) but Ruger was too slow so the AR15 was reluctantly adopted by the Military because they quite with their ultra light weight barrels made with an aluminum composite that caused them to just barely fail the barrel life.

I say the military was reluctant to adopt the AR platform, because they really didn't like the weapon's ergonomics because they're so vastly different from what they've always used.

Double action; with this type of gun, when you pull the trigger it primes the hammer and fires the gun. Also usually a revolver.

Bolt action; usually rifles, but the bolt must be manually cycled to ready the next round.

Pump action, basically bolt action for shotguns.

These seem okay, given background checks.

While I understand that semi-auto is quicker and deadlier, thus "preferable for home defense" in that sense, I just don't see a scenario in which case one of these wouldn't do the trick and they'd provide a heck of a lot more window of opportunity to hide or counter if an attacker was using them. If I wanted to put strategically placed landmines in my yard to protect against home invaders, that'd be extremely effective, but that doesn't mean I think I should be able to just go purchase them.

You can be fast with those and because the gas isn't cycling the bolt, the bullet is going to be moving faster.

What about outside the school? A shooter can be anywhere. At a park, mall, streets. Arming teachers will not solve the problems in this country.

You can legally do that in the state of Florida with a license. Clubs, schools, movie theaters, police stations and federal buildings (workers are armed btw,) parts of an airport and theme parks are all places you aren't allowed to carry.
