That doesn't sound like a particularly healthy attitude. Recognizing that it's usually necessary to kill poachers on sight rather than attempting to apprehend them, given that they're typically armed to the teeth? Certainly. Feeling little remorse for the death of such a despicable piece of garbage? Certainly. But being excited by the idea of killing one? Killing shouldn't excite anyone.

I met up with some dudes from ProTrack this afternoon, and man, these guys just exude badassness from every fucking pore. they are like mercenaries who only fight for one cause, and that cause just happens to be a good one.

I'm buying them a half dozen drones to use for scouting and monitoring as well as some kevlar vests. I'll be coming back next year to volunteer for their 8 week program. should be a blast. i doubt i will ever see a poacher but the idea of busting one of these fuckers gets me all amped.

no rain coming until next week and im gonna be out of here tomorrow so once again i am missing my chance to bless the rains

they will be getting a much larger payout from all of this than initially expected, far sooner than expected and I was largely to thank for it. Rather than continue to pay on my contract when I've got no work left to do they showed their gratitude and cashed me out. I wish i could get into more detail, and im sure that in the next year or so when this is all resolved i will be able to.

by the way jen, I'm sorry i was usually such a shitty person to you. i saw someone struggling and i leaned on them instead of helping and that is not the person i want to be. i understand shit is going pretty well for you right now, and i certainly hope it continues to do so.

I always planned to retire before 40, and i have been saving and investing accordingly with that in mind. a specific case ive been working on is what pushed us over the top though.

its complicated and some of it is still confidential until the rest of the deal is completed, but my part is done.i was working a very long and very high profile case that i didn't expect to close for at least another 5 years. things happened with one of the subjects of my investigation which will lead to a much earlier resolution and a much larger payout for my clients, and they were especially grateful.

my wife gave her 2 weeks the day we found out. i wouldn't be out here doing this without her.

I think many people tend to underestimate the size of Africa. Africa is huge as hell.
Also did you see any interesting wildlife along the journey?

I did!

We say pygmy hippos in Liberia as well as something our guide called a zebra dog (it was clearly a deer or something more like that, but with zebra stripes.

we saw elephants in Angola,

and omfg I had the scariest goddamn night of my life there as well.

One particular day, we found out the drive to the next village was too long, and the roads are kinda sketchy at night so we ended up spending the night in the car a little ways off the road.

Middle of the night, Kayla starts jabbing me in the side and I wake up irritated as fuck like "WHAT?!" and she shushes me. There is a sound outside the car that sounds like someone is taking one of those crinkle straws and extending and retracting it or something. Big ass glowing eyes maybe 50 feet from the window, just glaring angry.

the guide said there are no lions in that area so i donno, it must have been a leopard or something. fucking surreal experience bro.

other than that its just the sort of stuff youd expect to see. nobodys gonna be all that excited to see a gazelle or a water buffalo when there are apex predators and much more interesting herbivores out there.

I said some pretty hateful shit on here before I left, and I just sort of assumed it would be closed by the time I checked again.

I've just finished a month and a half long journey through Africa, starting in Morocco and following the coast all the way to Cape Town and I've got to tell you all, I thought I had an idea of how just how big the earth is, but this trip has completely shifted my perspective again.

Africa is gigantic and beautiful and there are some great people here, I must say.

I am meeting with a couple of guys from ProTrack tomorrow to see if they are taking investments and donations. I'm not saying I want to hunt a human for sport, but i think we can all agree that poachers are subhuman, and should be fair game.

the case ive been on for the last 3 years finally closed, and I just came into a pretty hefty sum of money. Enough that I will probably never NEED to work again, although i still might someday.

my wife and i have decided to use a small portion to spend the next couple years traveling the world. Starting in Germany, and seeing where life takes us.

This is not a joke. I have come to the realization that I have what I believe to be a damaged brain or at the very least a naive and foolish outlook.

I do not feel the need to alter my voting behavior in any way. That might be the right decision for some but Im comfortable with my political stance even if it doesnt align with my mental identity. Im a crazy liberal in the body of a sane human being, but thats ok.
