As someone where "music that sounds like steve reich" is like a top tier favorite category of music (steve reich is somewhere in my top 20 favorite musicians of all time (so is Kazuki Yanagawa lol)), A Road Full of Unknown might be my literal #1 favorite piece of music I'd say falls into that, so it's a pretty big deal to me ! also it's funny to me you commented positively on the instrumentation because I remember actually worrying you would DISLIKE the instrumentation of that based on your reactions to some other tracks in the past, so I am glad I was 1000% wrong on that lol -Mycro --- time |

| Toxtricity 02/22/20 12:13:10 PM #247 | I am glad deo is in the ice cap act 2>1 camp. i'm not as big a fan of that theme as most (well I love it but i love almost everything from s3&k and i like a bunch more than it) BUT the one thing I love about it above most of the rest of the ost is the delay echoes and I LOVE delay echoes and the fact that it has a section that isolates the echoy part is SO COOL (ice). it's actually one of the biggest differences in reaction to act 2 vs. 1 for me because of that, despite how similar they are haha. ...currently in my ranking comparison thing I have ice cap act 2 at 41st and act 1 at 92nd haha wow. might just be my current mood but yeah haha and man I'd have been so happy to see Chrome Gadget this high (and appreciated by others like many are commenting right now) in like 2008-2009. it was...literally my favorite song (#1 favorite piece of music, period, for many years, until being overtaken by Kimera II from G-Darius some point in '09 (thank you vgmc)). but it was still my favorite when I joined board 8 and everyone was like "Wtf why does mycro procesro care about this boring song". and now that it's finally getting appreciation ...well I still love it it's one of my top favs from s3&k still but my taste has definitely changed a lot and it's not even close to that high anymore. still very glad to see it ranked high! --- time |

| Toxtricity 12/26/19 8:51:07 AM #53 | I wouldn't be happy with 128...i think a lot of why i enjoyed the pool of the last vgmc was because of the stuff that was only able to be in because the pool was larger. I'd be willing to help with running if it meant we could continue to have 192-256 because i really don't want to regress back to 128 personally also, I don't think more matches a day is really that big of a deal. its not that much more daunting to listen to an extra song every day to be able to have a larger pool, most people vote in optional sidebracket and bonus matches and stuff, so it doesn't feel like it'd even actually lengthen the contest having a larger bracket, just the number of songs listened to in one day. |
