Did you have the X-band online modem for either SNES or Genesis when you were younger?
I never had that, but I remember seeing the commercial for it for SNES and Genesis (which I will post below).

During 1994 when it first came out, you could play certain SNES and Genesis games online using X-band (Madden being one of them). I WISH I had this when I was younger (would have been awesome to play games like Madden and Mortal Kombat on Genesis online), but my parents didn't get me an X-band..... most parents didn't buy this for their kids since this thing didn't sell well (a lot of people didn't understand the concept of online gaming at the time, despite this commercial explaining it very well):

I remember reading about this in magazines at the time during late 1994 or so.
Yeah, I didn't understand what the internet or online gaming was at the time (despite the magazines attempting to explain it), so I ignored the X-band. If I knew what online gaming did at the time, I probably would have bugged my parents to buy me one of these.
Also, I don't remember ever seeing that commercial for X-band on TV, but that is a cool commercial.

Playstation wasn't released till September 1995 outside of Japan.
Playstation released in JAPAN ONLY during December 3rd, 1994, but it was more of a TEST launch than a real launch (1995 was when the WORLDWIDE launch took place).

Also, the JAPAN ONLY December 3rd test launch only had really ONE main attraction.... RIDGE RACER. That was the ONLY game during the December 1994 Japanese ONLY test launch that actually utilized the power of the 32-bit Playstation.

All the other games released during December 3rd 1994 in JAPAN ONLY during the TEST launch were Japanese ONLY releases like TWO different Mahjong games (I can't find footage of the original 1994 games, but this is the latest one for PS4.... this is NOT something that shows off the power of a new system and NOT something that appeals to most people outside Japan (hell, this is rather niche even IN Japan):



Another 1994 game released during the Japan only TEST launch was Gokuju Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack.....
This is a 2D shooter that looks like it can easily run on the 16-bit systems (SNES, Sega Genesis, etc. Keio Flying Squadron on Sega CD has similar graphics)... it definitely doesn't show off the power of 32-bit Playstation (granted, it is a fun game if you like 2D shooters):



There were a FEW other games released during the December 1994 TEST launch, but the ONLY game that actually utilized the 32-bits of the original Playstation was Ridge Racer.... it wasn't till the September 1995 WORLD WIDE launch when they had a bunch of games that showed off the 3D tech of the 32-bit Playstation.

Sega Genesis had some really enjoyable RPGs.
While not as good as Shining Force 2 (that was released during 1995) I remember playing the original Shining Force on Sega Genesis during 1994 and that was a GREAT time. Such a great game:



I also remember playing Landstalker during 1994.... such an awesome action RPG for Sega Genesis. I love this game. One of my top favorite games of the entire 16-bit era of gaming:

I think naming your child Lucifer is a horrible idea btw. Just from the name's history. It has multiple meanings, but the one most people are going to think of is Satan. You couldn't think of any better options? Something unique and unattached to the embodiment of all evil?
I'm not even religious. But there are better names out there. Sure, most people aren't going to try and exorcise your kid on the spot, but why allow for even a shred of a possibility through that would predispose your child to prejudice?

I'm not even religious myself, but naming a kid Lucifer is just putting the poor kid into a series of unfortunate events he's going to be encountering his entire life from people that are going to be complete assholes to him because his name is Lucifer. From teachers and other kids giving him a weird look during elementary school all the way to getting viciously picked on in Middle and High school and all the way to many professional jobs (most of which are run by older, conservative bosses) not wanting him during his adulthood because of his name. Might as well name his Adolf, for crying out loud. Hell, as someone else said in this topic, might as well give him the first name Lucifer and the middle name Adolf and legally change his last name to Caligula ( for fucks sake, don't do this. Do not name your kid after Satan, Adolf Hitler and Caligula the Sex Fiend.).

Bullies target people for the tiniest, stupidest little details.... (EX: I once saw someone get bullied because they wore sneakers from some no name company). If the bully is religious (and most people are. It's stated by some sources that 75% of Americans are Christian. Less than 5% of Americans identify themselves as Atheist) and the bullies find out that the kid's name is Lucifer, I 100% guarantee you that the bullies WILL target that kid. It's the year 2017..... it's the age of things like SJWs and the sorts..... we have people getting offended by rated PG fart jokes..... a name like Lucifer will probably cause half of them to have heart attacks while the other half goes after the kid named Lucifer with baseball bats and tennis rackets.

I say he won't SJW's will defend him because SJW's usually don't care for religion. I feel the exact opposite is gonna happen. This day and age kids are becoming more understanding. Sure we have see more online bullying but overall, kids are better to day then they were before. They just want to chill and play games.

Granted, I do NOT think it;s wrong, but anyone who names their child Lucifer is setting that kid of for some MAJOR discrimination (expect him to get into fist fights every week during Middle school and High school as he encounters some bully who gets offended by his name).
