They melt down into liquid when exposed to high temperatures. Textured soy protein has solid texture also and holds up better to heat. The Burger Dude made a pretty cool video on how to make beef crumbles out of tofu. My wife has used it a couple times and it turned out pretty well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elnRctjp9rk If you like beyond patties you can also find beyond beef crumbles as well, kind of pricey but probably my favorite all-around --- Don't ask about Charlemagne. |
