well I'm bored and decided to try episode 1 of every new anime. I know this is a terrible season to do this with but... I'm bored

going to be speeding up most of this schlock and also going in premiere order. (according to MAL at least, I assume it's accurate.)

island - this was very meh. concept is interesting though so I might want to play the VN sometime.

hanebado - the opening scene in this was really cool but then nothing else in the episode was that cool or interesting to me. I'm not going to even try to follow this but I'd consider watching it once it ends if people say it's good.

I started it not long ago but I just wasn't feeling the first world at all. A lot of little things about gameplay and exploration were annoying and the overall direction seemed tedious. It gave me a similar disappointed feeling of not living up to SM64 or Banjo as Yooka-Laylee did, only A Hat in Time was way less polished so I didn't stick with it. Still, there's a good chance I just don't care for the genre anymore.

this is kind of how I felt but I chalked it up to "maybe I just don't feel like playing a platformer right now." I'll try it again later.

Yep, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got into this situation. Not by choice, I can tell you that! It started when my weirdo classmate, Chiba, tried to save me from a runaway truck and got us both killed instead. Idiot. Doesn't help that I fuckin love Kiritsugu so knowing that we went from someone like him to.....Shirou is not great

it seems like not so just so you know, he's meant to be annoying in the fate route (the one DEEN adapted.)

really brief version:

fate, he goes all in on his ideals because that's what saber represents and that gives him reason to believe his childish dreams are actually the way real life works. major spoilers - this is basically the shirou that becomes archer.

in UBW, he has rin, archer, and less saber around to ground him and force him to be more realistic.

I won't say anything about HF just because the anime's not complete yet.

anyway, shirou in fate/original anime is definitely obnoxious but when you think about it as part of his character growth, I appreciate the way he's written.

I don't blame anyone for thinking the DEEN anime is shitty due to its animation and direction being weak but I have way too much nostalgia for fate route. I really hope ufotable adapts it after they finish the HF movies. I haven't seen any of HF yet but I'm sure I'll love that too.

don't think I posted that I finished wotakoi

I enjoyed it for what it is but it doesn't do anything special at all. was honestly surprised (and disappointed) at the lack of romantic development. nothing even happens there in the finale really. friendship scenes were fun and I enjoyed the references. every character was good but hirotaka was the weak link for sure. (narumi was the best.) overall probably a 6 or 7 out of 10.

I was still at my apartment at uni with gbro and I was like hosting a huge dillos invitational and then finally phile and lady phile came last and we were like all hyped waiting for them but then for some reason lady phile's dad was with her to make sure she's not hanging out with a bunch of weirdos first (also he kinda looked like national security advisor john bolton so i hope that's accurate to real life)

anyways gbro and gsis were also with us and gsis turned the conversation political and offended lady phile dad as things got heated and gbro joined the conversation loudly, after lady phile went to the washroom lady phile dad just left and it got really awkward and emotional over feeling guilty and stuff and it was just like a major drama-fest like that and people trying to cheer each other up in tears
