I mean when you really break the word "generation" down it means the result or consequences of something that happen before and it makes sense that way. You can't have a "generation" that doesn't come from somewhere

But the biggest reason I have for feeling the way I do is that I dont feel like the perspective works as well for RE2. For me, the over the shoulder view stops it from being pure survival horror (which is not an inherently bad thing) but then it just becomes an action game without much action that happens to have a horror theme. RE3 at least leans more heavily into action pacing and combat.

Fair enough I feel like that's subjective but you did stress that was your opinion so I can't be mad. I disagree personally, not to mention what other option did they have outside of first person.

7 was very good.
RE2 remake was not.
RE3 remake was not a terrible game, but was a very poor remake.
Village was awful.
RE4 remake was decent.

Explain what makes RE2 "not good" and RE3 "not a terrible game" if it wasn't a remake?
