That said a lot of the Plagas literally eat your head if you get too close.

But could he keep the destruction down so it doesn't endanger her? He makes big messes when fighting.

The only issue he might have is if he can figure out how to cure Ashley.

Leon also gets physically manhandled a lot, if this was GOW3 Kratos he would kill everything first and ask questions later.

If this was GOW 4 Kratos, we would have to see if he cares about Ashley first, if he does she is as good as saved, if not she will definitely get taken away from him at least once or twice.

Like Kratos would probably dive down in the lake and fight and kill the monster underwater lmao

Who is going to stop him? Some slow moving infected humans that even Leon can shake off or roundhouse kick to death? Why would using guns matter when he can tear them apart with his axe or blades of chaos? Hell he could probably swing his chains and clear out the entire village part in a few seconds lol. The Village Chief also wouldn't be able to physically overpower him. Just say you don't want Kratos to win and call it a day.

better question is why would he want to? That'd be nerfing himself when he has an axe that he can throw several hundred feet with precision and recall on command that would most definitely maim anyone in its path. He'd also be able to just force his way through puzzle doors or jump over them completely if we ignore gameplay/story balance and let him use his full abilities lol

One of the biggest levels of the original was gathering skulls to get past a puzzle door
And the one of the biggest plot maguffins of the second was getting across a wide gap

His own games also tend to be of the...magical and godly variety. He regularly breaks stuff in his games that are stronger than wood, hell the force of him and Baldur fighting in the intro of GOW was enough to split mountains and crack the ground

Yes, thats gameplay/story segregation, like when you're stopped by a locked door with broken windows in Fallout games. Or a car is conveniently blocking the road so you have to go around instead of just climbing over it. Kratos himself has literally ripped trees straight out the ground in cutscenes lol

So then why are those same limitations suddenly gone in RE4? Why is Kratos now immune to puzzles when he isn't in his own games?

And then how come the instant death plagas can't kill Kratos when he insists on being in close range? In story they would rip his head off instantly before Kratos even knew it because he's not shooting them from 30 feet away.

You want storyline logic when convienent and gameplay logic when conveient.

Leon spends 6 hours getting a key to a church then leaves said church by climbing out an open window he easily could have just climbed into.

I think it's safe to assume they still have to abide by basic logic of the games or else the average CE user could have saved Ashley by breaking the game.

also kratos is weird

outside of the lore which uses figurative language so shouldn't be taken seriously (or else you have ppl scaling kratos to some multiversal tier thing which just doesn't make sense) he goes from looking like he has to put effort to lift a log in the recent gow game (when he is walking with wife) to being able to destroy a chunk of a mountain as collateral damage (his fight vs baldur).

This is a dumb post, whats the point of inserting any character into anything if they have to abide by your arbitrary rules?

So lay out the ground rules(that apparently keep changing), does he have his godly strength or not? Is he only allowed to use guns(because you keep implying that guns are the only way to kill humans), etc..

That attack can be parried. And the Blades of Chaos have more range than they do anyway.

Also, Kratos solves far more difficult puzzles than anything you'd find in RE4. So even if he isn't sequence breaking, he'll be fine.
