I kinda sucks that you kinda have to grind all six characters' skills, at least somewhat. Eventually though I would just stick to Toan and Ruby, and whenever the game forced me to play as one of the others that can't handle tough enemies, I usually stocked up on bombs and rushed through that floor.

Otherwise, wonderful game. Collecting Atla and placing their contents always felt really satisfying, especially as more mini bonus chests appeared throughout the towns the more you completed them.

I never finished that final tower dungeon though. A hundred floors filled with super tough enemies, without Atla, and when you're done you get a sword you're probably barely gonna use at that point anyway? Yeah no thanks, ain't nobody got time for that.

That reminds me that Simon Templeman is still around, but he seems to be doing acting in shows I've never watched. Like The Neighbors.

Nice to see he's still working, but sadly it's not likely anyone or anything could get the original Legacy Of Kain cast back together (or what's left of them at least). It's been over 20 years since the last LoK game (the Nosgoth MMO obviously doesn't count), and with the exception of Anna Gunn, all of the main voice cast members are either dead or elderly by now.

Amazing that he already was so openly critical. Usually when actors comment on a movie or its director shortly after release they suck up all the time about what an amazing and unique experience it was, and maybe many years later one or two of them will reveal their true thoughts about it.

That's pretty gross but I've heard tales of people doing far, far worse things.

I'm reminded of the Worst Possible Date story (a.k.a. Most Epic Poop Story) from the Bodybuilder forum.
This guy had a date, went home with her, had to take a dump, but couldn't use the toilet for some reaon (think he had a boner or something, not sure), so he figured the best solution was to shit in his date's bathtub. He then tried to clean it up by running warm water and yes *drumroll* stomp it down the drain.
Of course, it wouldn't dissolve, and made a bad situation even worse as not only did the drain got clogged, but the warm water made the fumes spread all around to the point where his date could clearly smell it outside of the bathroom. Naturally she was like "What's that smell? Why are you running a bath? WTF is going on in there?!" The guy awkwardly tried to play it off as a joke, which only made things worse, and well, suffice to say they didn't have a next date.

The best part is that the guy who posted this story even made hilarious-looking MS Paint drawings to illustrate the situation.

It'll depend on whether they can find a way out of the city. Both of them would have the survival skills necessary to avoid the zombies to get out and since they wouldn't be exploring the manor they're less likely to bump into some of the nastier zombies like hunters. The issue is that since they're not STARS, no one's going to come to rescue them before the city gets napalmed, so if they try and survive in the city they eventually get taken out with everyone else, but if there's a means to get out they would absolutely be able to.

They could also go the Resident Evil 2 way. Keep in mind that at the time Leon was a rookie cop and Claire was, well, not exactly helpless but didn't have any special training or combat/survival experience as far as we know. Add to that that Ellie is much more resourceful and less annoying than Sherry, and they have a decent chance of getting through this.

I don't have anything in particular to confess that I wouldn't want to admit otherwise here, but I just wanted you (Harpie) to know that I really appreciate and respect what you're doing here. Sometimes people just need to get something personal off their chest, without it getting back to them (even if most of us are already practically anonymous here).
I often read these topics just because I find them interesting, without really wondering "Hmmm, I wonder who wrote this" and it's good to see that some people actually use it to say something that has been bottling up.

It's because we're differentiating between the "soft a" version of the word that is commonly used by black Americans today, and the more racially charged epithet "hard r" we all know about. They both have a "hard n", so that term wouldn't do anything for trying to distinguish one from the other.

NCR, House and Indepenent Vegas are all morally grey factions in the sense that they're not stereotypically good or evil. The Legion actually does seem to have all kinds of qualities that are associated with evil, which I think is kind of a shame, considering the moral ambiguity of other factions. Like, I wish Obsidian had developed the Legion more to the point where the player would actually contemplate that path and consider them to be the best choice, other than "muhahahaaa, I'm gonna play an evil character now!"

Actually I think I get it now that I've seen it exemplified in that video. If I understand correctly, 'the hard R' is another way of saying 'the n-word'. This might be super obvious to some of you, but not others because:

The problem is that in order to believe it was indeed intentionally racist, you'd have to assume that the largely Korean/Japanese/etc. developers employed by Sony were trying to insert this very western/American racist dog whistle into their video game. Because, you know... the entire world views race relations through an American lens. Duh.

Now, should it have been changed? I really don't care. To me, the game never looked interesting enough to buy in the first place.

Same way how the expression "The end...or is it?" makes no sense to me, as it actually means "The end...or isn't it (the end)?"

It's just that I honestly never encountered the phrase 'hard R' before, so I had no clue what all the fuss was about. I do now.

Same here. Earlier someone ITT talked about how people are going to pretend not knowing what it means, but I sincerely never heard of this and literally had to have this topic explain it to me. Tbh I'm still not sure I get it, but I guess if enough people agree that it's offensive and it was edited out, then good for everyone I guess.

At the very least the fact that lots of people wore masks were a constant reminder that there was a pandemic going on and people should keep distance from each other, and the effectiveness of keeping distance in order to prevention infection is one thing there is clear consensus on.
