It's cool that the reason this happened is because Culkin discovered AVGN on YouTube earlier this year and loved it so much he binged the entire series and then made contact. Imagine how surreal that would have been for James

The recent episode I liked was the one about that cursed game that he couldn't show footage of cause it kills you or makes you crazy. That was actually good cinematography

Horror filmmaking has always been his number one passion. That Polybius video along with the Board James videos like Mr Bucket and Dreamphone demonstrate that. He recently announced his next major project will be a new horror film as well.

Episodes are few and far between now because he has kids and other weekly shows on his channels. While they're nowhere near his prime years in terms of quality, he still has some great ones every now and then.

He easily could have retired the show years ago but I think it's nice that he still wants to make them indefinitely when he gets the time and once in a while a new one pops up.

It's not the ending, it's the 12 fade to blacks that fake-out each part of the ending

This is the main reason the ending feels like at too long

The film is too long for a theatre experience of a fantasy film. I remember starting to leave multiple times getting increasingly frustrated at it not ending.

My home viewing experience is a completely different story however. After seeing them, I can only ever watch the extended cuts now and in doing so don't look at the films as a trilogy anymore but as a single 9 hour experience.

The blu rays help in this respect as each film is split over two discs. This means it's easier to watch them like a season of tv over the course of a week. Makes those multiple endings a complete non issue.

You should definitely start with Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. It's really really good.

That Fat Tony death episode doesn't get enough shit. As polarising as Principal and the Pauper was, at least they didn't do something as dumb as killing off the original character and then replacing him with a different character who becomes his doppelgnger anyway making it a completely pointless death.

That was one of the few plotlines from the non-good portion of the series that I actually thought sounded kind of clever. But I guess I also liked Principal and the Pauper, and never understood the fanboy outrage over the episode.

Ironically, I was the same. I just saw Principal and the Pauper as another episode and didn't give it another thought as they concluded it with the joke, "let's never mention this again"
and so was surprised to find out years later just how much it was despised.

Maybe it's an age thing? I was 11 when that first aired so didn't really give it much thought whereas I saw the Fat Tony episode a few years back and the character switch just really irked me which may have to do with my more analytical approach to watching tv and film as an adult.

Also the different eras are a factor. Principal and the Pauper came during its peak success before its gradual decline so it makes sense that it got so much attention. Whereas Fat Tony's death episode came in the 22nd season well into its "past it's expiry date" reputation.

It's not likely it'll be good. Much like Mario, Sonic isn't really suited for live action adaptations due to the nature of the world and characters.

Off the top of my head the 2000s and 2010s had/have

Naked Brothers Band
Big Time Rush
Jonas Brothers
One Direction

And Im sure there are way more Im missing

Yeah, I guess theyre not really a thing now, but theyve always been around. And theyll probably never die.

What about Girl Bands? I dont think we have that anymore

There's no such thing as a girl band. Someone decided that alliteration was important in this instance so boys were called a band and girls were called a group even though technically a band is defined by musicians who play instruments.

Most bands and girl groups generally just sing and dance and don't play instruments so calling it a "band" is a god damn fallacy and I'm angry on the internet about it!
