If you consume as much of ESPN’s content as I have for the past 22 months, it seems clear the company leans left. I don’t think anyone ever made an executive decision to go that route as much as the personalities the network has promoted into high-profile positions tend to be more liberal, and as their voices are amplified, the overall voice has shifted with it.

We didn't decide to be left-wing, we just hired and promoted exclusively left-wingers and somehow ended up that way. What a coincidence!

No, what I said was improving player behavior is a NECESSARY cost that you cannot ignore when making a game like this. It's like saying that the netcode is "distracting" from making the game better in other ways.

A distracting PC feature would be like voice responses that trigger anytime you insult someone saying how epic your pwnage was and how big your penis is and how you're not actually a racist for using the n word.

This isn't really the argument though. You're now admitting that they have to prioritize this and that one detracts from the other, just saying "it's cool though because this is more important."

Which is an opinion you're entitled to have, but it's NOT the same thing as what you were arguing before.

yeah, they marketed themselves as more extreme/violent than the regular NFL, but then dialed it back extremely and didn't deliver any of that

Yeah, I haven't watched the documentary, but IIRC the major problem with the XFL is that it wasn't different enough. It was basically just like the NFL but with no kickoffs and jerseys that said HE HATE ME. Turns out that's pretty boring.
