When I transferred to 4 year and really buckled down on taking college seriously, I would study 4 hours a day and would be able to answer all my Professors questions during lecture. My peers often complemented me on how "smart" I was, but throw a test in front of me and I was always mid. There were a handful of times I was top in class for 1 test, but otherwise always average.
Test taking is an entirely different skill than actually learning the material. I knew guys in my engineering program that wouldn't even do the HW and still got better test score than I did. My advice is to put everything into a flashcard program like Anki and do that every. Single. Day. Faithfully. I was able to get old Midterms/Finals and put those on Anki and just crunched them out problem solving. If I didnt get the right answer I'll see it again tomorrow. I also put the lectures on there too to study the concepts. Doing this method as my only studying source I would be slightly mid during midterm 1, mid midterm 2, above mid during the final. I never cared for getting As in my engineering program as that required too much time. 4 hours a day to study/do hw for all my courses for C/B grades was fine enough for me. Tl;Dr Anki is the answer. Throw all your lectures test on it and do it every day. --- Am I going too hard? |
