Some people drive a long time to go to their city, and even cross state lines, it's not hard to grasp. And it doesn't matter if anyone asked him, he wasn't there to just protect that single car lot, he was there to help injured people and stop further damage, like any good samaritan would do. If we had law abiding armed citizens stopping violent riots all the time, we'd be much better off. He literally only went there to protect his city and took a legal weapon to protect himself.
