Anywho, made the Sword of Light and it's time to go to the final (?) dungeon. I hope they don't force me to use that one-hander sword, 'cause MC has been rocking greatswords for the last 15 story arcs or so. Seeing as there were dead Yggdrasil saplings around, and that alien's island had some more, I suspect I'll have to play arborist before the game's truly done. This time, let's make a World Tree with some actual defenses, like missile batteries and flamethrowers.

EDIT: I'm also curious what the hell those ancient Dundrasil books I keep finding (and can't read) do, if anything.

Ahh yes, metal slimes. I found a few in the Battlefield mine, but they don't show up with any regularity to take advantage. Maybe that'll change in the last dungeon or something.

Anyway, did the Battlefield ore hunt today...which had no boss.
Then Gallopolis' star explosion stuff...which also had no boss.
Then Hotto stuff, which had TWO bosses.

The second fight with Tatsunaga killed my whole frontline. My backline (Jade, Erik, Serena) managed to squeak out a win anyway, but damn, that fight was cheap on several fronts. 50-50 rezzing is always trash, though, so I'm not surprised when the boss gets three attacks. Keeping a magic barrier up instead of trying to undo the DEF Down effects would've been smarter, now that I think about it...

Fun game. If you want an easier time leveling up, get the perk that lets you instakill zombies by stepping on their heads. Zombies are often vulnerable when they climb, so if you stand on a car or something, you get a free head stomp opportunity most of the time. I don't think you get guns until around LV12, though.

The first 5-6 seasons are all pretty great, but it starts to run out of steam after that.

Dat lack of single-target healing is killing me in boss fights. I can't use that crappy "heal 20 health next turn lol" move as a top-up. Hopefully he learns something like that later.

Definitely has a good library, but it's usually a few faves (Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, Sonic Adventure, etc.) that people remember. If they need an extra incentive, release Propeller Arena or something.

EDIT: This "character sings but no vocals were recorded" stuff is pretty lame. This has happened at least 6+ times in the game.

For every 100 amnesia subplots I see, about 98-99 are bog-standard trash that weren't worth doing. Oh well, I'll commend the sister for at least putting up a decent boss fight. Rab died about halfway through and I had to limp through the rest. People being invincible while gold, but still susceptible to buffs/healing, was surprisingly tolerable.

I've been teaching my dudes dual wielding and saw he had some clone move. My first thought was having all the clones dual wield, too, but I didn't know he had a free crit skill hiding somewhere. I think only Sylvando and Serena have dual wielding unlocked right now, though.

Hendrik and I went to the castle and beat the crap out of some skeleton boss, regaining the dank purple orb. I'm glad he brought some phials for MP, 'cause I didn't have any on my MC. Didn't expect him to join my party completely, though...that's a genuine surprise.

Long ago, I ended up switching my guy to greatswords because no one else could equip 'em (also, they do ridiculous damage), but now I have two users in that proficiency, so...oh well. At least he can have some hand-me-downs. I did buy that Nightcleaver for 12000 gold earlier, so that's at least one thing that'll see more mileage now.

C'mon...Serena is Lv30 and still doesn't have a multi-target heal spell. Even Sylvando and Rab already learned theirs. =|

Anyway, up to Yggdrasil now. Got some good grinding in on these blue dragons that spawn right by the First Forest altar. One even had a liquid metal slime to kill, which helped things along, haha. I haven't played DQ games in awhile, so I'd almost forgotten about that strategy where you use risky moves to crit metal slimes for easy wins (thanks, Thunder Spear).

Welp, found the last two orbs and defrosted Sniflheim. Gotta admit, that's the only boss so far that almost killed me. Laughably, the only time I've died in the entire playthrough was right outside the first village, when I wasn't paying attention to my health.
