Some cool stuff happens, but since most characters are forgettable and most sidequests suck, the best moments (like fighting that giant across the strait) are few and far between. Note that the DLC, particularly Dead Kel, is fairly enjoyable. I'm curious how the new stuff will be when it releases.

All 24 seasons are on the Roku Channel right now, so I want to finish before they expire or something. That's what happened when I was watching NewsRadio and I didn't even notice, haha.

Yeah, I don't mind the individual stages per se. All of them end up as "Jack foiled them and I escaped!!" which wears thin quickly. If they'd only revealed Marwan in the last third of the season, like that evil Caspian Sea oil tycoon in S2 (I think it was), then it might've felt fresher.

Season 5 is great TC. Strap in and bring popcorn.

Might take a little break from watching tomorrow so I can catch up on other stuff. I'm making pretty good time to finish by month's end.

Imhotep, lmao. I knew I'd seen him somewhere.

And yeah, his plan was way too cluttered. Why even bother wasting time with a stolen nuke out in Bumblefuck, Iowa, when we know all the main action is going to be in L.A. or (somewhat) D.C.? It was such an obvious "now we can stretch this out for 4-5 episodes" thing. In fact, anytime a character mentions "this will take 20 minutes" (etc.), we know it's just to stretch things out. I'm a little curious how good the movie is now that I've seen so much excess in this season.

Still, Marwan's weird plan had some fun moments, like the EMP attack at McLennan-Forster (maybe not in his real plans) and the ensuing sporting goods store shootout.

Finished the fourth season. It was mostly enjoyable, although some dumb subplots weren't that useful. I think someone said earlier that most seasons have a few, so at least I wasn't blindsided. Marwan fell to his death like a wuss ("I'm escaping to the afterlife, hahahaha," shouted Marwan burgessly.), Tony was rescued and presumably leaves to be with Michelle, and Jack, now pursued by the Chinese government, fakes his own death and walks into the sunset.

Everyone got a happy ending...except the terrorist kid. I wonder what happened to that cute Latina programmer who got tortured earlier. I think Driscoll sent her home to recuperate or something...wasn't paying that much attention, I guess.

So to rank S4:

Best character: Chloe
Best new character: Edgar
Best couple: Tony + Michelle
Worst new character: Marianne (the social climber who got gunned down)
Worst subplot: Marianne betraying everyone
Funniest subplot that didn't suck: Jack fake-robbing the gas station to stall a terrorist
Subplot I would've been okay with being pursued further: Helping Edgar's mom on Three Mile Island =(
Character I hated the most: Charles Logan
Character I'm glad didn't return because they can be annoying: Kim
Character I'm glad didn't return because they're dead: Sherry

I hope Chloe/Edgar/Sara return to form the Holy CTU Trinity of programmers, impervious to outside interference and betrayal. Curtis was pretty good, too, so he can come back. I doubt Driscoll returns after all that happened, and now that Tony has happiness, I don't want him to come back. Maybe he can run computers for Jack or something when he inevitably needs help doing something.

Next season should be CTU vs. the Chinese. I have a sneaking suspicion that the prime suspect dude is going to die to wrap up the plotline, though.

A carbomb got the assassin? Seems like a ploy since we didn't see a close-up of the faces. I bet they're still in the apartment and those were the neighbors.

I remember someone liking Agent Baker earlier in the show, but I don't think he's shown up this season. Not sure if this Asian agent they have is the same one, but Jack didn't hand-pick him (IIRC) when he was talking to Buchanan. As far as bit players go, he was pretty good, so hopefully he didn't get off-screened or something. Right now, everyone's trying to find the sexy assassin (from S1) who somehow factors into this mess.

Not only did Marwan get away ----again----, but some dumbass left keys in the ignition to make it even quicker than normal. I really can't fathom why they keep going back to this tired-ass contrivance, but it wore thin several instances ago. As soon as the camera showed that deep shot of the alley, I knew what was coming.

Damn, Jack had to save the Chinese guy and got Paul killed in the process. Audrey ain't gonna be his honey anymore after that, lol. At least we don't have to suffer through the tired old love triangle plotline (well, this one at least; there's still one with Tony and Michelle).

Wow, these Chinese consulate guards are portrayed as bumbling fools with outdated equipment and poor tactics. Jack literally did a fireman carry on the hostage and evaded 10+ guards all shooting (with single-fire pistols, lol!) and, to top it all off, one guy ran in front of the others and got hit by FRIENDLY FIRE. I know it's not the biggest of posts, but you'd expect these people to be somewhat competent. One guy pulled up one of Jack's cohorts' balaclavas, so maybe that'll come into play later.

Getting a little sick of Marwan escaping everyone's grasp. I know he's the big bad, but they've done some variant of that 2342342 times so far. At times like this, you almost miss Chase -- he was somewhat competent and could have Jack's back. Everyone else who accompanies Jack ends up in a pool of blood, usually within the first 1-2 bullets fired.
