Also, isn't it odd that the Chinese couldn't get even one suitcase nuke (which is supposed to be obsolete tech by this season), or even the blueprints to it, and now that they have it, don't have any computers that can easily decrypt or read it? They have to smuggle it out of the country to do so? Their planning isn't very good, even though they're always shown to be pretty competent otherwise. (Well, other than the friendly fire incident at the consulate, lmao.)

Yeah, it's pointless filler when the pace slackens a bit. It's a shame main plotlines would resolve in the 24th episode instead of dragging out with silly time-wasters. Looks like Karen or Buchanan might get the axe after Rob "Terrorist" Lowe gave up info on 'em to save his own hide. Maybe Tom'll do the right thing and take the proverbial bullet for Karen somehow.

So Jack and CTU staged a fake rescue of Fayed, which then led to Fayed somehow gunning down FIVE guys on his own, plus the driver, and escaping. We know the rescue was fake, which assumes the bullets they fired were blanks... So how did this happen? All I know is, you couldn't pay me a billion dollars to be a faceless squadmember of any of these teams, 'cause with 99% probability, they all end up dead.

Been watching 24 lately, and in season five, Tony is about to kill some dude with some type of medical overdose, but instead, the dude on the gurney wakes up, flex his strength, and injects it into Tony instead. I think it induces a heart attack or something in a really pitiful, anticlimactic manner. Easily one of the crappiest deaths I've seen in awhile and not what you'd expect from a protag.

I was listening to David Samson's Nothing Personal podcast when it was on CBSN, but ever since it became Paramount+, they took it off. It was good hearing his opinions on MLB (and other sports) stuff. Hopefully they'll bring it back sometime.

Palmer is back! Powers Boothe keeps trying to invoke the 25th Amendment, but the Cabinet wasn't having any of it. Now, he's trying to claim Karen's vote doesn't count. I'm curious how non-Americans enjoy American politics. I'd say it can seem kinda boring, but then again, I watched Yes Minister last year and it was friggin' amazing.

Jack using the autistic dude for the drop-off meeting was a little sketchy, though. Not any worse than torturing people, I guess, but it was funny seeing Jack handle him all sweetly, then going into the next room and yelling in his bro's face. Jack is both the good cop and the bad cop, haha.

I wonder how the terrorists are -- yet again -- seeing eyes-only info at CTU. I doubt they'd make the Middle Eastern girl the leak after all the effort they've gone through to build up her character. Maybe Morris' shell shock and torture led to incompetence somewhere. All the main players are pretty trustworthy vets, except the new field ops guy, but he seems like a no-nonsense sort of dude. Then again, that US drill sergeant guy from earlier betrayed everyone, so...

I'm glad they cut out Wayne's sister's plot and that stuff. Hopefully that doesn't come back.

This ep's had some good moments (mostly from Morris) but it's shaping up to be the weakest, mostly in part to the family=terrorists stuff. Speaking of Morris' greatness:

Kim complicates every situation she shows up in, so I'm fine with leaving her off screen. Jack said "don't tell Kim" in the first episode or something and that's been her only mention so far. I'd like to see him take out that creepster therapist guy, though. Maybe next season.

Whew, watched a few eps this morning. Jack saved Milo and Marilyn, then found out his dad was really evil and had Josh hostage. They did a prisoner swap, then the dad crapped out on executing his son, instead hooking him up with ex-president Logan. Yadda yadda yadda, Logan tried helping and got stabbed like a TF2 engineer. Dunno if he'll survive (I think his vitals dropped in the ambulance).

Meanwhile, there's a bunch of goings-on at the Russian embassy. Jack infiltrated -- you'd think he'd learn not to do that by now -- to get info, then ended up in an armed crisis. Subarov signed off on taking out the Consul-General when he defied his orders to give up, leading to a bloodbath. Oh well, at least we know the evil Russian general is trying to put warheads on unmanned drones.



And, oh yeah, the president was bombed by his own staffers and the former terrorist is now a former living person. Powers Boothe is trying to put all the blame on him and is having Tom make up a fake eyewitness sighting. We need our real commander-in-chief back pronto! (Wayne's whirled, grand ole party time, accident! *air guitar noises*)

Shenmue 1 & 2 are great. I still can't get into Shenmue 3 that much, though. I don't want to waste money eating cabbages and stuff to keep my energy/health up as I go around doing quests and stuff.

I forget which Shenmue I played but once I got stuck because a barber held a razor to my throat and said "don't do anything" but the QTE on screen was so flashy that I kept pressing the button and losing and he kicked me out like a million times before I realised what I had to do lol
I was a fucking idiot.
Anyways after that I got bored and never played again.

The barber thing is in Shenmue 2, haha.

TPP is one smooth-ass game. The open-world stuff can feel somewhat empty (especially if you just jog everywhere like me), but the combat is so good, you can forgive some of its flaws. It sucks that it takes so many resources and in-game $$$ to really make all the upgrades/guns/etc.
