Stewart looks crazy there, even if justified, but if he was so willing to throw hands then why didn't he just do it when he was face to face with LeBron before everyone got involved? Got to take your chance there, you know once others gather the chance is gone.

Ridiculously dirty play by LeBron but there's a decent chance Stewart gets a longer suspension

I am not confident Jonathan Isaac is going make a full recovery from his injury at this point. He's 17 months removed from his ACL surgery and the front office haven't given any sort of update (which is how the Magic FO operates). However, Wendell Carter Jr was asked about Fultz and JI specifically in an obscure interview and from what he said Isaac is not even cleared to practice yet. He's purely seeing medical staff and doing weights. So essentially he's about 9 months behind schedule so still 2-4 months away from possibly playing. The timeline is unprecedented for this type of injury / surgery with modern science.

His surgery either failed or he had a setback in rehab or he got another injury the Magic never told us about.

Sucks for Sexton since he's an RFA so this will most assuredly affect his offers

Nets win by 2 after Magic fail at the deliberate FT miss since it didn't hit the rim.

Harden ends up with 33 points whilst shooting 28% from the field because he went 19/20 at the FT line

Lol you can't make this up. Refs ice Ross for 3 minutes before his 2 FTs with 11 seconds left to review seemingly nothing at all. They just discuss for 3 minutes but don't say why and then go to the FTs. The previous foul was a deliberate foul and a clear 2 so nothing to review

Magic tie up Harden for what should be a jump ball after the FTs. Refs call a foul and Harden gets his 18th FTA of the game.

Harden now stepping up to take his 20th FTA (this one was a deliberate foul at least).

Ross gets fouled on a 3 point shot and gets the FTs. Refs do not bother to review for flagrant for Harden being in the landing zone even after Magic coach asks them to. Replay looks like it would be a flagrant if reviewed

The Magic are bad enough to lose plenty of games themselves but they are getting absolutely rinsed by the refs tonight. Just missed a blatant goaltend and the immediately followed it up with FTs 15 and 16 for Harden. Gave Cole a technical earlier after he got raked and a non call on a dunk. Didn't even bother to review WCJ getting smacked in the face either.

Just one of those games where everything seems to be getting called for the Nets. Wouldn't usually matter since they should beat us by a ton but it's actually a super close game and making all the difference

Surprised that Belton and McNeal retired but helps out my cap so not complaining.

With Belton and Tulloch retiring I now no longer have a single player on the team who was on the team prior to me taking over.

Tufts and Parrish are the longest serving players on my team entering their 11th season after being drafted in the 3rd and 4th round in my first draft. McClain is the next one up entering his 10th season. Then rather hilariously the next man up is CB Johnson entering his 8th season with me despite not having a single recording stat (I assume he has played some snaps at some point). I don't even remember the trade I made to get him other than him being a throw in for cap/roster spot reasons.

Tulloch, Belton and Campbell were all big parts of my team. Tulloch put up those stats despite not starting until he was 30. Belton scored 41 TDs for me. And Campbell anchored my FS for 9 seasons so could possibly be my most successful FA signing.

I'm pretty sure this draft sheet is correct but obviously default to KCF's list over mine. I did check it against his post but if there's a mistake in there don't blame me!

Both Morris twins have hit players in the back in the past too which makes their outrage about this hit funnier.

They are both enforcer / bully type players which is fine in itself but you lose your ability to complain about dirty / retaliation plays when you are 1a and 1b on the list of dirty players.

100% deserved it imo. He only took it in the back because he immediately turned his back on Jokic after committing a dirty play. He knew what he was doing and has a long history of being a dirty ass player.

If you commit a flagrant 2 when down a ton in a game that is already over then you should expect retaliation and face it head on rather than immediately trying to turn your back and walk away. Jokic would have likely done the exact same thing regardless of the direction Morris was facing

Sarver is fucked

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32440987/phoenix-suns-robert-sarver-allegations-racism-misogyny

If the commissioner comes in and investigates to see what the f--- is going on in Phoenix," one current business operations employee told ESPN, "[he] would be appalled.

Edit: Jesus fucking christ

Sarver once used the N-word when explaining to a staffer why he preferred hiring Lindsey Hunter over Dan Majerle as head coach in 2013, according to an executive.
"These [N-words] need a [N-word]," Sarver told the staffer of his largely Black team, according to the executive.

How is this entire article just shit like this.

When the Suns were recruiting free agent LaMarcus Aldridge in the summer of 2015, the team knew that Aldridge had young children in Texas and that playing near them was appealing. During the recruitment, Sarver remarked to two basketball operations staffers that the Suns needed to have local strippers impregnated by NBA players so those players would have children in the Phoenix area and feel obliged to be closer to them, giving the Suns a potential edge in free agency, the now-former staffers said.

That 3rd quarter by the Magic is as bad a quarter as I can remember both offensively and defensively.

Going to happen with young teams but man does that suck after being the better team the first half.

I mean there are valid reasons to have concerns about them. Brown/Tatum are an awkward fit without a playmaking facilitator because the balls sticks in their hands and they both just want to shoot. Saw a stat this morning where both of them are amongst the league leaders in terms of shots taken per game to assists.

Partly because the media loves to overreact to shit for clicks/views. Partly because they made 3 conference finals in 4 years whilst holding onto a shit ton of assets and so the expectations were high.

Rookie of the year seems like it's gonna be really competitive this year

Scottie Barnes, Josh Giddey, Evan Mobley all look great

He won't get the boxscore numbers to back it up but so far Franz Wagner absolutely deserves to be spoken of in the same way. His on/off for the season is the second best in the league (it's like +43 or something). Almost all Wagner lineups for the Magic are positive, I think every single non Wagner lineup is negative. And he's been playing like 33 mine a game.

He's like the ultimate glue guy that the boxscore doesn't show but the team is clearly vastly superior when he plays.

I think based on what I've seen so far though, I'd say Mobley.

Nobody ever takes the qualifying offer. Especially not when there's a 120m offer on the table.

The only way it makes sense is if he forces his way out via trade

He doesn't get the choice of elsewhere though. He's an RFA and Phoenix will just match another team offering a max.

The only thing he has done is screw himself if he gets injured this season (or has a bad year in general)

I just don't buy Ayton turning down a 4 year max because he can't get a 5 year max on the RFA market. So what does him turning down a 4 year max actually accomplish unless he intends on forcing his way out?

I didn't renew my Magic season tickets this year (although I'll still go to 20-30 games I'm sure). I'm more excited than ever about the team, I just don't think I'll have the free time for 41 home games.

Yeah I don't understand their stance. They either pay him the max now or they match a max offer in RFA in the summer but end up with a disgruntled player.

Unless they are trading him it makes no sense. Nobody wants to pay a C max money but you kinda set yourself up for that when you take a C that high. Any player you take that high you take expecting them to be a max player.
