Also if anyone hasn't tried my sons 2 stages yet get to them while you can. I'm going to be deleting them from the server tomorrow so that I can get my new stages up.

They won't be gone permanently but I have to swap them out due to the 10 stage upload limit. Eventually if they allow a larger upload cap I'll put them back on the list.

Yeah... I kinda got carried away. My last stage was becoming so large that I had to split it into 3 parts.

The first 2 are complete and I should have the last one done tomorrow.

Basically I'll be dropping not 1, not 2, but 3 brand new companion stages. They are shaping up nice and so far my kids and I have been speedrunning to see who can get the fastest time.

I did come up with a rather lengthy name for them though.

I'm gonna call them:

Se7en's Mega Maker Demo Gauntlet - Part 1 of 3
Se7en's Mega Maker Demo Gauntlet - Part 2 of 3
Se7en's Mega Maker Demo Gauntlet - Part 3 of 3

I feel like these stages can serve as great examples for anyone that might be having a hard time with ideas. I've played a lot with color schemes, sprite combinations and enemy selections to sort of come up with the best most authentic feeling in each stage and worked hard to create an arena that will allow the most novice players to succeed and still offer new challenges to the pros. (Originally it was one big stage which is why I called it an Arena)

I'm pretty stoked that they'll be ready for your enjoyment soon.

So... my son kind of gave up on his 3rd stage. He wasn't really happy with what he was building and just suddenly lost interest. (kinda like the rest of you here :P j/k)

Anyway, I started my 8th stage today and it's gonna be a doozie. I haven't really decided what I want to call it yet but right now I'm calling it "Se7ens Gauntlet".

Stay tuned. I plan on spending most of my day working on it tomorrow. If all goes well I should be dropping it by tomorrow evening. =D

Rusty Boneyard: I really enjoyed the atmosphere and theme to this stage. The second checkpoint area was rather tricky to get through with the rising block part. Good thing Skull Barrier was available. The boss arena was also really fun.

Awesome. Glad you loved it. (and yeah Skull Barrier was included intentionally for that reason)

The boss fight was kind of accidental. I wanted platforms and included the springs as a means to get up there but never realized that Cut Man would end up being bounce happy which really presented a decent challenge imo. That is until you figure out his weakness of course. =)

Dang shame that you can only upload 10 stages at a time. Looks like I'm finished until they increase the allowed submissions I guess. I told my 9 y/o that he can have our last spot for his 3rd stage (which is in production btw).

This was super fun to play. It is quite a gratifying feeling to have this tool after soooo many years of wishing I could create my own stages. If they added a feature to create your own Robot Masters I'd be over the moon seriously.

Anyway... I await (and hope for) many more creations in this topic to explore.

Considering Mega Man 9 is in the top 3 OST's for the original series, it most certainly has music that rivals the best themes IMO.

Wow trdl. I didn't read many of the books so your diving into the backstory of each block here is pretty cool dude. I'm learning a lot. (I'm also a little late to the party but it doesn't seem to be much of a loss since you have only ranked 2 blocks so far)

Unfortunately though, I haven't purchased any cards since Lorwyn/Shadowmoor but I am one of the originals having started playing when Alpha was released!

I kid you not. I remember buying my first packs of cards at the dollar store way before they even became popular. I even still have 6 or 7,000 cards in the back of my closet collecting dust.

Anyway, I stopped playing and collecting cards because it just felt like there were way too many sets coming out way too fast and it was getting a bit expensive. I did notice that you don't have any sets on the list before Ice Age though.

Do you intend to eventually do a ranking of all the sets individually perhaps? That'd be a decent read imo.

Yeah... there is only 4 that I consider decent and I don't think they can even rival the best themes in the series.

Lost Beach Vault was unfortunately a little laggy but I managed to play through it twice.
It was a good water themed level. Good spike placement and the boss arena was tight.

I'm starting to think that this game consumes entirely too much physical memory or something.

I played it on my work laptop which is only 2 years old and it played flawlessly with no lag at all yet here at home on my 12 year old laptop it lags like I'm trying to play GTA V or something.lol

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you liked it despite the unfortunate lag.

I have noticed though that when the water sprite is used the amount of lag increases. Maybe this is something that the creators need to address?

Hello,

Just here with the update for my new stage. I corrected a couple of spots that were proving more annoying than challenging and I fixed the glitch through the wall near the 1st E-tank. I also made sure the secret M and E tanks were reachable.

My son wants me to let everyone know that he'll have his 2nd stage ready to post today. And he appreciated the feedback for his last stage.

The part where the red platforms rise and you have to jump from one to the other as you go up a couple screens. The left and right of this shaft is lined with spikes.

I'm not sure how to take a screenshot with the laptop I'm currently using but I can try to do it on my laptop when I get home tomorrow morning.

My Stage Progress so far....

Quick Spark NC - Still stuck on this. I once again made it to the section with the rising platforms with spikes lining both sides of the stage. I'll get this damnit! :P (Just not today unfortunately)

Gotta Go Fast - I can't complete this one atm. Not with a keyboard anyway. I got all the way to the screen full of green lasers but I cannot even get to the right side of the screen before I die. I tried like 40 times before saying screw it. I unfortunately do not think I will go back to this.

The Mountain - This was pretty good. My friekin hands were sweating a bunch with some of the jumps but I really love the color scheme you selected. Snake Man's theme sounds pretty sweet here too. This is easily a step up from Forest Factory imo and the fight with Metal Man was wholly satisfying. Keep up the good work! =)

...and I think I'm caught up on the stages released so far.

Crap... I just found 2 major issues with my water stage. I'll Update the stage tomorrow and repost the new ID.

I'll leave the one that is posted up for now but just in case, I am aware of the glitch through the wall when going after the first E tank and that it can't even be reached when you get there.

I am also aware of the fact that the hidden M and E tanks are also unreachable.

Whasssuup my Mega Man homies,

Back with one of my stages that I had in development. It took me awhile to build because I struggled with some visual flaws and was getting some crazy lag but I wanted to ask, has anyone else had any major lag when working with the water sprite?

This here is my water stage speaking of that.

Are they supposed to be adding more sprites/textures eventually? It would be nice to see more of the enemies/pitfalls as well. Oh yeah and more Robot Masters!

I also hope they get some stuff from MM9 and MM10 in there too.

now this one, I'm not a fan of. it's a nice companion piece to the fire level, but it's one of the most visually assaulting things I've seen. I guess you could say it's thematic and I might agree with that if I was the one to build it, but everything being a shade of blue makes it kind of trial and error-y because I just struggle to see what I'm supposed to be doing. it's like bubble man on steroids.

there's also some weird stuff, like missing a rush coil jump that leads me to an energy tank below, that feels like either an oversight or a sequence break. maybe it isn't though! I died a lot here and didn't finish it.

Yeah there are some tricky jumps and I did get a little excited with the spikes but... I kinda feel like this is one of the most rewarding stages I've made so far as in once it's completed it feels like an accomplishment.

It does get easier in the 2nd half of the stage imo. I realized early on that it may get tedious to some folks with my spike placement but in the end since I place checkpoints at every 6th screen, I decided to leave everything the way it is. Obviously since I created the stage I find it much easier to complete and I actually can speed run without many issues so if it's too difficult that would be a slight oversight I suppose.

Anyway, I'm glad you at least tried it out but it's a bummer that you were not able to finish it. Maybe you can put it in your stage list and try it out again sometime?

Either way, I appreciate the feedback. =)

finally played this - pretty good. I like the moderate difficulty. the floating platform section was a little annoying due to how you had to wait for them to line up while also not having a whole lot of ways to avoid the fire blasts. I reset once or twice just because I had lost half life and didn't make a lot of progress.

other than that, pretty enjoyable. lots of spikes around but they felt mostly fair. it had a good theme with all the fire hazards too.

Yeah, Jesse called it on this one, the hallway scene was one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. I'm still blown away by it.

Yeah after rewatching that I'm still a bigger fan of Punishers fight scene in season 2.

uh.... you didn't watch the whole series or you were not paying attention then because they explain it all by the end of the 4th season.

I'm actually still waiting for them to release the 3rd and 4th seasons on Blu-ray but it doesn't seem like it will ever happen. :(

(All 4 seasons are on Netflix though last time I checked.)

Wow. I can't seem to do it dude. I made it all the way to the rising platforms that go up with the spikes lining the walls on the left and right but that's it atm.

I found the shortest way through it to that point and collected the M and E tanks but without any checkpoints it's become quite tedious in the last hour that I have been attempting your stage.

It requires alot of skill with the timed jumps 'under pressure' as I say and I'm struggling with having to use the keyboard for this one.

I will take another crack at it tomorrow but I have to give up for today unfortunately.

As far as the stage layout I think it's pretty well arranged and I found that damned spike at that dead end btw.lol

It's not too colorful and there is a lack of variety in the visual design but it does feel almost like a speed run chamber of sorts.

Pretty cool other than that. As soon as I beat it I'll get you a thumbs up on this one just for the challenge alone.
