| Scintillant 09/30/22 5:26:00 PM #64 | I think now that I've finished, I would say (for cold steel)... 2 > 4 > 1 > 3. I loved them all though. I loved how huge the second game was, it felt so dynamic and cool as I progressed through it. I may have to replay them all, of course, because I started the series about a year and a half ago. 2& 4 and 1&3 are basically the same game as far as story structure (country wide war vs baby bracer adventures). I will say, the gameplay definitely improved with each installment. If the combat from 4 was in 1-3 I would absolutely love that. I loved the characters. This game does a really good job at making all of the characters feel important to the world. It's such a feel good game, and when all the characters come together it's really exciting to see how they pair off and group up to have cool conversations. One that was interesting (just because it's fresh) is that in one of the salt pales, Arseid asks Toval why he didn't accept the offer to become an A rank bracer. I thought that was such an interesting thing that seemed to just be mentioned in passing (I don't remember if it's brought up in CS3, it's been a long time since I played that one). Conversations like that really excite me in the game, just little things scattered all over that build up the world. I love this series so much and will play every entry. --- whats cat up to |
