I don't think that is true. AC games always do good sales. Origins had 1st month sales beat Syndicate by double and Odyssey beat 1st month sales of Origins. And if you are a fan of the series you buy all their games like me. It is just that there are a lot of protagonists in AC games so no one can truly represent it.

Alucard VS Peach
Alucard(56.81%) defeated Peach(43.19%)

Nobody cares about Peach. She is weak. Fun thing too, Peach who is the counterpart of Zelda is weak but Zelda is damn strong. I believe because Zelda is famous(you know from which franchise is from)and she can fight in some games too that people like her. What most people know about Peach? That she is kidnapped and Mario has to save her or something. Nobody likes these kind of characters. Still she did decent actually. Also something that I didn't know about Alucard. He has taken part in all contests! I didn't expected that! People like the Castlevania games. He won here with decent percentage too.

Yuna VS Godot
Yuna(72.56%) defeated Godot(27.44%)

This board LOVES Ace Attorney games. Seriously. With a passion! So we had another character from the series. Now I don't know anything about these games sadly. Apparently he likes coffee a lot? Yuna is from FFX and of course nobody doubted that she would win. Seems now that from the FFX characters the main lead is the weakest one of them all! Damn! So of course Yuna won and as expected Godot is weak. Guess the board was happy that he got in at least.

Kefka VS L-Block
Kefka(60.19%) defeated L-Block(39.81%)

Kefka is always a mystery. He loses to weak opponents and beats strong opponents. And vice-versa? Seriously you can't read this guy. L-Block was the champion from 2007. Meaning the character(?)that won the contest that year. Really. He had less than 1% prediction rate when he won the contest. And that match had almost 200.000 votes. Man things back then were insane. Obviously it won with rallies. And after that nothing. Yeah it won some matches but that is. And now it lost to Kefka. The mighty have fallen. Kefka did well and managed to win with above 60% too. He defeated a previous champion! Nice.

Kazuma Kiryu VS Bomberman
Bomberman(60.87%) defeated Kazuma(39.13)

Unfortunately we don't care about the Yakuza games in this site. This is bad because these games are awesome. And I still can't understand how Kazuma got 2 seed since we don't care about these games. Strange. Bomberman is in the new Smash game but not as a playable character. Still as I have said before you are in Smash you gain power. I guess that is why he got in. Plus he earned his 2nd victory after 16 years too! So Kazuma never stood a chance of course and he lost by a lot. The first 2 seed to lose too. And to Bomberman? Seriously Kazuma is very weak. I think the weakest 2 seed in the contest too.

Sora VS Ryo
Sora(69.08%) defeated Ryo(30.92%)

Sora won of course. Ryo was a regular for the first contests but then he dissapeared. I guess with Shenmue 3 hype now he got back in. But of course he would be weak. Sora is a regular and he always wins his first match too! Except the very first time he got in strangely enough. However Sora couldn't even break 70%. And there is KH 3 soon too! Probably. So I believe this was a decent performance from Sora. Not bad but not very good too either. Guess Shenmue 3 hype is real! Still Sora as almost always won the first match!

Neptune VS Pokemon Trainer Red
Red(75.32%) defeated Neptune(24.68%)

Obviously Red was the favorite. Neptune is from a series that is called Hyperdimension Neptunia. Don't know what that is sorry! Obviously people care so she got a higher seed than Red. But Red is the original player character from the original game of Pokemon. So nostalgia is HUGE! So of course he won with more than a tripling. A strange thing about this match is that it says Pokemon Trainer Red. But his name is Red. Pokemon Trainer is his job sure but still. Is his name generic? What about Link? Cloud? Squall? Aren't these generic words too? I just don't get it. As for match what else to say? Pokefear I guess.

Crash Bandicoot VS Cecil Harvey
Crash(54.18%) defeated Cecil(45.82%)

This match is hilarious. After Zidane and Tidus and Noctis lost Cecil was doomed. There was some hope though since Crash isn't strong. He has like 2 wins in 7 contests. Cecil is the main character from FF 4 and I don't think anyone has any big problem with FF 4. Plus Cecil is a Paladin. Paladins are always awesome. But here is the thing. Last year Crash Trilogy got released and it got the 1st spot in the chart sales!(UK at least, don't know about USA ones). So the older got to remember Crash and the younger learned how awesome he was in PS 1 era. He was the mascot for Sony back then! So Crash managed to win but Cecil kept it close. As for Cecil...He has taken part in 5 contests. And he has lost in ALL of them! This is the worst record of any character now! I think so at least. Man...Hope Cecil manages to win at least 1 match one time!

Big Boss VS Ridley
Big Boss(56.66%) defeated Ridley(43.34%)

Now this match was never in doubt. But here is the thing. People were expecting around a 60% for Boss. But as you see that was not the case. So why this happened? You are not going to believe it. Smash boost for Ridley! Yeah that is. If you are in Smash you get a huge boost here. You are not? Get out. Smash games are the official Mugen games! Like everyone from any series can get in it seems! Think about the N9 characters. 7 of them have appeared in a Smash game! Damn! So yeah. Still Big Boss managed to win and he was never in any danger. Ridley can beat like 1/5 of the characters in this contest now it seems. Too bad he got a strong opponent. Maybe next time.

Yoshi VS Shantae
Yoshi(74.27%) defeated Shantae(25.73%)

Not much to say here. Yoshi always does decent. And he is a dinosaur too. Everybody likes dinosaurs. Shantae is a newcomer too. Don't know anything about her or her games. I guess some people like her so she got nominated. She also evaded a tripling which is nice. What else to say? Dinosaurs!

Velvet Crowe VS James Sunderland
Velvet(61.04%) defeated James(38.96%)

This much was a little bit of debatable. They are both new characters so we didn't had any info at all. Velvet is from the Tales series and James is from Silent Hill series. Neither series or their characters do good in these contests. Silent Hill does really bad actually. Velvet though had the advantage of TJF and she is from an RPG series. Thus she won and with over 60% too. Nice job. I always liked Silent Hill series but after Konami canceled Silent Hills which had everyone excited I don't expect the Silent Hill games or characters to ever appear again and if they do they will be extremely weak. We just don't care for the series. Shame.

Pikachu VS Scorpion
Pikachu(66.41%) defeated Scorpion(33.59%)

Pokefear! Okay not really. Maybe? Not sure. Pikachu would win. Pokemon aren't weaklings like all these years ago. Seriously in the previous character contest out of the 9 finalists we had 4 Pokemon characters! Damn! Okay there were a lot of rallies but still. Scorpion was a beast in the 1st ever contest but that was it from him. Nothing after all this time. Pikachu is the face of the franchise. And I bet my ass that after Pokemon Go he is the most recognizable video game character or at least top 5. And of course he did good and managed a doubling against Scorpion. Or barely a doubling. Still it is not that Scorpion is that weak but Pika was never going to do bad. Everybody loves Pokemon. Right?

Kratos VS John Marston

Here we had 2 western characters and 1 of them has is in a western type game? What is going on? Anyways Kratos strangely enough isn't that strong. He has a few victories but that is. John is a newcomer. But here is what I don't understand. Kratos won by almost a tripling. I don't get. A few days after this match RD 2 came out and it is one of the most anticipated games ever! Seriously! You would think that John would get a boost or something but nothing. I know that a new GOW game came in 2018 and it was amazing and everyone liked it but seriously? RD is the best Western game ever made and is considered one of the best open world games too. And RD 2 is better too! I just dont' get it. I guess we don't care for these kind of games here.

Zero VS Primrose
Zero(74.18%) defeated Primrose(25.82%)

Zero is decent. He has more wins than loses but it is not that he is strong or something. Except 2007 which he did good. Primrose is from a new IP. So obviously we didn't know anything about her. Obviously she would lose. And she did with her barely evading a tripling. Is this good or bad? Can't really say. She is from an RPG series that is from SE and the game is similar to old school RPG's so I guess she can beat some characters here or something? Maybe. Anyways Zero did good here.

Zidane Tribal VS Knuckles
Knuckles(56.8%) defeated Zidane(43.2%)

Man this match was even more hilarious than the Tidus/Donkey Kong match. And there at least some people expected it. But here? Seriously? Knuckles winning? And the funniest part? Knuckles is never doing good in these contests BUT he has 6 wins so far and in 5 of them he has beaten FF characters! Damn! He is the FF slayer! So of course he here beat another FF character. Zidane has the same problem with Tidus I believe. People don't like the main character but they like another party member. Auron over Tidus and Vivi over Zidane. So Knuckles did won here and that is good for him. Funnily enough with almost the same percentage as Donkey Kong beating Tidus.

Noctis VS Master Hand
Master Hand(57.55%) defeated Noctis(42.45%)

Look at the result. LOOK at it! Seriously? The main character from a main FF game that got GOTY in this site got defeated by a Hand? Don't know what to say. I know we don't like new games and we prefer old games and Master Hand is in Smash but seriously? Can't understand what happened. Yeah FF 15 isn't beloved like other FF games but man. Was everyone on the joke like that time from 13 years ago that Master Hand defeated another FF character? I don't know. I just don't know. Also for added bonus Hand defeated Noctis with almost the same percentage as KD beat Tidus and Knuckles beating Zidane. Something fishy is going on! Yeah not really.

Monica VS Wario
Wario(64.56%) defeated Monica(35.44%)

I don't know anything about Monica. She is from a game that is considered a visual novel. I don't know what that is! Apparently this is a genre of games that is heavily focused on story with a few key choices in certain story parts. Wario you all know who that is. Now apparently DDLC game is really popular on some circles. But not here. However Monica did get a rally, but it was small. Still she managed to avoid a doubling so that is something I guess. Funny thing is that even when a few hours were remaining on the match people were still worrying for a bigger rally. I guess we fear rallies after what happened in some previous contests. So I can't really say what the power of Monica is. Nice win for Wario I guess.

Vivi VS Yu Narukami
Vivi(74.89%) defeated Yu Narukami(25.11%)

Vivi is the typical Black Mage. Even people who don't know anything about FF know what a Black Mage looks like. Meaning that everyone can understand what this character is exactly. Also nobody has anything bad to say about Vivi. He is awesome. Yu is the main character of Persona 4. Persona series is very loved here. But man it is a niche series still. But here is the problem. The main characters of Persona DON'T have official names in the games! Meaning he can't be recognized. Hell I recently played Persona 5 and the main character is here but he is with a name I don't recognize because Atlus refuses to put the official names of the characters in the games! Why? So of course Vivi won easily with Yu barely evading a tripling. What else could happen?

Victor Sullivan VS Aya Brea
Aya Brea(59.56%) defeated Victor Sullivan(40.44%)

This was the first debatable match of the contest. Victor is from a series that is very well respected and critically acclaimed and Aya is from a series that is long past it's prime. When was the last good Parasite Eve game? So both could win here in theory. But in this site we love old games and we hate new games. Also she is from an RPG series. Plus Aya has TJF. So with all these things she was able to win rather easy. Of course both characters are weak. I am not even sure how Aya managed to sneak in either. Are there people that want a Parasite Eve game??? Still she won and that is nice. Took only 16 years for another win!

Tidus VS Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong(56.93%) defeated Tidus(43.07%)

This match was somewhat debatable. Meaning almost all of us on the board had Tidus winning but maybe Donkey Kong could do it. But man this match was hilarious! Tidus didn't stand a chance here. Donkey Kong went in town. But why? Smash boost as so many people say. Smash series is EXTREMELY popular. Seriously. A character gets in, and he gains massive popularity for the contests for sure. And the fanbase goes nuts too. Of course DK was from the start in the series so Smash boost can't really apply to him I believe.Still a new Smash game is out in around 1.5 months and everyone is really excited.This makes all characters that will appear on that game get a power surge. FFX is strong I believe, just people don't like Tidus it seems. Seriously all his wins are against weak opponents. Poor Tidus. He can't just catch a break! Maybe next time?

Leon Kennedy VS Dragonborn
Leon Kennedy(68.66%) defeated Dragonborn(31.32%)

Leon was always the strongest RE character after RE 4 came. RE 4 is considered one of the best games of all times and the best RE game too. It is in my top 5 games of all times too. The only game I have bought multiple times. Capcom has released it like 50 times already. Dragonborn is from Skyrim which has like RE4 50 versions so far and is beloved by everyone even on this site. But here is the problem. The main character of Skyrim ISN'T defined. Meaning you can make an Argonian female as the Dragonborn and it is canon for you. Plus s/he hasn't a personality. S/he can be a murderous psycopath, a benevolent entity or something in between. So you can't really say what defines him/her. This is why is a weak character in the contests. You can't really attach to him/her. Skyrim is strong in the contests. But not its main character because there is not one! Leon won with more than a doubling and it was a good showing I believe.

Yeah I know another person does another one. And when the contest ends there will be another one from an expert. Well I am here since the 2002 contest even though I didn't had my account then, but I was here as a lurker. I do take part in these things since 2003. So of course these analysis aren't from an expert on anything. These are for fun. And it is the 10th Character Contest so I want to have a bigger part on the Contest! Well here we go.

Dante VS Cuphead
Dante(71.59%) defeated Cuphead(28.41%)

Well a 1 seed vs 16 seed. Everyone of course expected Dante to win. Duh. And he did. Dante is a veteran of these contests. He always does well. Hasn't beaten any N9's of course but he is strong. As for Cuphead he is new. Meaning we haven't judged his strength. However I believe he did okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. He is from and indie game and it is exclusive, meaning no PS 4 or Switch ports. I am sure Cuphead can beat at least another character from this contest.

Chloe Price VS Lightning
Lightning(74.19%) defeated Chloe Price(25.81%)

Chloe was the higher seed but of course this means nothing. I am not sure how she ended here. Guess there was a rally to bring her in? She is from a game that Gamefaqs doesn't care about. It is a good game, I have seen playthroughs from Youtube but this site doesn't care for that. Lightning is from one of the most hated main FF games yeah, but she dominated here. Almost a tripling! There was a fear of some rally since apparently other communities like Life Is Strange but nothihg happened. It is not that Lightning is strong, it is that Chloe is weak. Chloe is bottom 3 for sure for contest strength in this contest.

Spyro The Dragon VS Chun-Li
Chun-Li(56.17%) defeated Spyro The Dragon(43.83%)

This was somewhat a debatable match. Spyro is a Playstation icon but that was long ago. Now he is in Skylanders but we don't care about this game. Chun-Li is the most iconic female fighting character from the most iconic fighthing game series. Yeah I know this doesn't say much but no way she would lose here I believe. Spyro is weak. Still she didn't impress or anything. She just won. Still she did what she was supposed to do. And Spyro was the higher seed too! That means something right?(no it doesn't)

Ganondorf VS Neku Sakuraba
Ganondorf(78.6%) defeated Neku Sakuraba(21.4%)

Ganondorf is strong. Really strong. We are talking about a guy that can beat N9's for sure now. No way he would lose here. Neku had his game recently released on Switch but that doesn't mean anything. It was a massacre for Neku. Ganondorf is the bad guy yeah, but he is the main bad guy from the Legend Of Zelda series. You know one of the best Videogame series of all time? Plus he is in a lot of Zelda games so everyone should know who he is by now. And this site likes Legend Of Zelda. Like a lot. Neku didn't stand a chance. We are talking about almost a quadrupling here!
