and while Todds vision sounds good I do think that there is a bit more room for the fantastical and the funny than he's kind of suggesting

todd presents a more nuanced take on this at some point which is that it's fine if these angles come from a place other than ultimately trying to be funny. they can be funny while serving a larger purpose, if the wrestlers and personalities involved are funny, but they shouldn't be written for the purpose of being funny

this is absolutely true. was maddening listening to observer this week and bryan kept being like, AND THEN THEY ANNOUNCED A CORBIN MAIN EVENT! and i know i was the guy a few weeks ago saying "maybe they shouldn't announce baron corbin is main eventing" but at this point yeah, he's so far from being the problem and the fact they are trying to pin the problems on him in storyline is so infuriating. who could believe baron corbin is remotely responsible for the shit that makes you want to turn off raw? even if the thing that makes you turn off raw IS baron corbin, we know he's not the one responsible for it!

I more or less agree, but it's better than the show getting less and less viewership to the point that they're actively wasting money producing it. I just feel like they'll cut their losses and move some to Raw or Smackdown and some to NXT and maybe release others.

they are already losing money on 205 live. it is, in fact, 100% losses.

it's not really that easy to just end it. there's not a lack of talent on the main roster. unless they fire a whole bunch of dead weight they're not really in a position to just drop shows outright.

None of them have gotten super over. If they wanted to really shake things up, why aren't more over people there? Nikki Cross is the most over, probably, and she'll just be joining the stable they haven't done anything yet.

Re-doing the Gen 7 ranking project with the 7 new Pokemon introduced after the original Gen 7 ranking project would have the issue of meta voting. Those who didn't participate in the original project could vote in a way that might change the overall winner. For those who did participate in the original project, they could make significant changes to their list to sabotage certain Pokemon that finished higher than they expected.

At least re-doing Gen 7 means we could get more people who didn't participate in the original project because they didn't play any of the Gen 7 games at the time of the original project.

Pretty good performance for me in this contest.

It was pretty much impossible to get a huge streak going once we got into the Legends Bracket because there were upsets lurking around every corner. You're not going to get very many points by banking every 3 to 4 matches. The big points come from running up a huge streak and banking at the right moment.

yeah - i feel bad that the spreadsheet was wrong the whole way so nobody actually knew that advo had an insurmountable lead from like, round 3 because it might have had people playing riskier than they did. especially like, yourself.

feels kinda strange but i know there were a few odd things with the spreadsheet ngamer sent me from the beginning, just random out of place formulae that should have been a few columns over but only in select cells, stuff which i only noticed by chance so hopefully the correction i just made is thorough enough that it captured everything. i welcome everyone who made picks to the end to check the sheet before i get advo his prize

... Which is why I love it here. Link may be stronger than I'd like, and the glory days of 2003 are pretty distant, but Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time and as time goes on it slips further into obscurity on every other gaming website. Its a 20 year old game from a genre whose popularity peaked long ago and while people talk about FFVII declining here, and it's true compared to 2003/4, it's only declined from incredible heights and the reverence we have for it here is still insane compared to the rest of the Internet. Give me another website where Cloud Strife hangs with Mario.

Zack Ryder is a bad wrestler who got over by being a dork on a YouTube channel. Great, how do you channel that into something meaningful on WWE TV week to week. I'm not sure who I see on the roster where I'm going "man, that guy is stealing Zack Ryder's spot."

Cesaro is a terrific wrestler without a ton of charisma. So what does he get to do? Just have MotN candidates PPV and PPV with The Shield, the New Day, the Usos, Gallows and Anderson, etc. Wow, poor dude.

And Rusev was literally challenging for the WWE title not too long ago and is currently challenging for the US title. So an upper midcard act is being treated like... an upper midcard act.

Its incredibly hard to see any of them as other than their expected roster placement. None of these guys were destined to be continuous main eventers with multiple world title reigns.

you're right on zack. the other guys, congrats, you perceive them as wwe has portrayed them. you also believe wwe's pigeon holes and that a star can only be a certain type of act. rusev and cesaro have both been on the edge of main event levels of overness at some point and been killed by wwe treating them as significantly less than that, then some people come on the internet and espouse that wwe treated them correctly because that is how they perceive them. maddening but you will continue to get the product you deserve.
