wrong, tomb raider is still really awesome these days although they had a bunch of bad ones after 3 until the reboot.

nothing comes close to tomb raider 1. the only thing is minecraft.

tomb raider is basically a minecraft world except most of the blocks are 2x2 size.

fighter, monk, white mage, black mage. best party.

fighter is obvious.
monk is fun and cheap. a second fighter is technically better.
white/black mages to get all the spells.

red mage is underwhelming and i dont know why people like it.
thief is actively bad.

the objectively best party is 4 fighters. If you are on the GBA version where intelligence works then Fighter, Monk, White, Black is the strongest I *think*

i only play nes or psx version of ff1.

tomb raider 1 is awesome. idk how anyone doesnt like it. it's basically just 16 huge awesome zelda dungeons except the jumping and climbing is good.

meticulously planning the perfect jump.

the first time you see the t-rex.

the crazy egyptian temples.

glorious cutscenes.

everything sucks in 2024. 1997 was better.

TopicIf the multiverse theory is correct, there's a universe where...
Robot2600

there's no evidence for a multiverse.

there could be a universe outside the bubble of our universe, but i think we are talking multiverse of madness, spiderverse, rick and morty kinda stuff.

there is disturbing math that shows the universe will eventually restart itself no matter what else happens, and that it will do this infinitely. we're talking like grahmn's number times a grahmn's number of tree-3 years.

i'd begin to question if we're even talking about numbers in the literal sense when we start thinking about things at that scale.

I'd also question the logic that "with enough time everything will happen." im not convinced, necessarily. like, given an infinite desert of sand, will you ever find a random configuration of sand that looks like a ferrari? i mean, maybe not! maybe it's literally just sand forever, and sand always looks like sand.

...and that's the thing. there isn't math proving that multiverse doesn't exist, so they continue with the fiction.

there is plenty of weird shit going on tho, so don't be discouraged. there is a 2-dimensional holographic copy of the universe at the edge of the universe, and it's impossible to know if we are living in the holographic edge or the 3-dimensional middle:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle

basically you can always encode 3-dimensional space entirely on a 2-dimensional surface. what would every molecule of your body look like smeared across a giant piece of glass. We'd cover something like a football field of space and look really weird as we moved through the 2-dimensional "smeared out" version of the world.

but again the "smeared out" version is not identical, it's equivalent, so as something happens at the edge, so too does it happen in the center.

so in a very, and i mean this very literal, way there are 2 equivalent universes that are both our universe. we are the smeared out version and also the 3d version.

2 copies of the exact same "file" but encoded differently.

and yes, you can further model any 2-dimensional surface as a 1-dimensional string and yes the universe is a single "very curvy" string, the "universal wavefunction"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_wavefunction

yea i see no reason it doesn't travel at the speed of light.

so the radiation would expand out in a sphere and you'd get hit with a single blast wave of radiation. seems like you could fly through the blast zone as soon as the fire went away.

if, somehow, doubtfully, there was still radiocative "dust" it would be flung away at a bazillion miles an hour. the surface area of the expanding sphere increases geometrically compared to rate at which it moves so something like 10 kilometers away from the big fireball should be more than enough to avoid a blast of radiation from an earth-nuke.

also there wouldn't be a "crush" at all after the explosion either, since there was no expanding air for the vacuum to crunch back, just a big flash and then it would get bigger and then fade away.

I think it's easier to think of gravity like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xQ_vcGgwOU

so it does that, but in 3-dimensions instead of 2.

(to be clear the video is great it's just long. you can watch the coin funnel to understand why things go into orbit. Remember in space there is no friction, so the coins spin for a lot longer.)

There would be no explosion, the space is a vacuum so an implosion would occur. Given the magnitude of the plutonium hydrogen atoms exceeding jules beyond space-time non mass capacity it would create a tiny sized black hole for a fraction of a second.

no that's not true. a vacuum doesn't mean anything for explosions--there's just less pressure on the explosion so it will be bigger.

There would be no mushroom cloud, just a giant fireball and then nothing. The explosion would be a perfect sphere, or pretty close.

a nuclear bomb doesn't need oxygen outside of the small internal components, so as long as the bomb casing was air-tight it would be fine.

the "effects" wouldn't linger unless something was in the vicinity to get hit, they would radiate away at the speed of light.

so a nearby asteroid or ship could become irradiated, same as chernobyl, but the "space itself" wouldn't have some kind of nuclear "cloud" that lingered.
