Also the game does need an overhaul that WotL didn't provide (completely ignoring my scrooples with the script), and needs it far more than 8 or 9 do. The best and honestly only way to unlock high end jobs and a bunch of abilities in a single playthrough without dozens and dozens of hours of random battle grinding is to have 4 naked dudes punch another naked dude in a cross formation for hours while a 6th dude heals and petrifies the last enemy repeatedly. This is not OK! It wasn't a problem in vanilla FFT when you could just, you know, easily cheat and get infinite JP for most jobs just by holding down a button and messing with the DPAD.
