By the end of the series, Naruto really was being handed abilities on a silver platter. Not that he didn't earn most of his techniques up to that point, of course, but the series definitely went from "hard work pays off" to "you've been chosen by destiny to be strong." (Though, I guess you could make the argument that Naruto had worked hard enough by that point that he earned being handed those abilities on a silver platter.) In a similar vein to how one of the series' themes was "the next gen will surpass the previous gen" only for basically everyone to be completely outclassed by the likes of Madara and Hashirama regardless. And them needing powers from an even more previous gen to be able to compete against them. Like you said, there's no urgency and gravity to anything at that point. Maybe it'd be better if the jokes were actually good, but screaming goats and and Valkyrie tickling Thor's nose while he's trying to save children is just stupid. Not even the characters were taking anything seriously. Made me think Gorr was right, and all gods are just hedonistic assholes that should be taken out. Gorr needed more screentime, Jane needed more serious scenes, Thor needed to stop being a complete idiot, and they should've cut like half of Korg's dialogue.
