Funeral is going to be next week. My boss encouraged me to take all three days off. Girlfriend is also encouraging that. Mostly so we can spend more time with my mom during this.

So I'll be taking the first three days off in the week because I won't know how the funeral will affect me.

It didn't come off as being a smart ass, and that's kind of one of the things I was worried about also. I'm kind of comparing how I feel to when I lost one of my closest friends. I didn't hit me hard until the following day, mostly because I had spent time with another friend that day.

I don't know. It's complicated, I guess? I may take a day off after the funeral too. I'm kind of mulling around my options but still mostly settled on taking only that day off.

I work in a small portion of a lawfirm with limited number of people working. We have one person who has to work from home due to a sick husband and somebody who is on vacation next week. So we could get away with me taking off, but to me it feels like I might want to keep my mind occupied instead.

Because when I let my mind stay unengaged, it goes to grim thoughts and bad feelings that I want to avoid currently.

And I forgot to say it, but thank you for the advice all.

For what it's worth, I decided to only take the day(s) off that I need for the funeral. I felt really distracted and had difficulty focusing after I first heard about his passing, but I've been able to focus more now as the day goes on. I have many, many feelings and thoughts having to do with his passing and circumstances leading up to and certain situations that led to our falling out, but I was able to talk through some of them on my lunch break. I've been expecting this phone call off and on for about two years and I wasn't sure how I'd feel after it.

Also, if I take three days off it's a strain on the co-workers as mentioned. And I was really mainly concerned about my mother getting through this as she was taking care of him for a while before he passed, but she seems to have been anticipating this too and I think that makes all of this easier? I dunno. Any time I've had anyone else pass away who I've been close with, it kind of hits me like a freight train not immediately but later.

I want Pentagon to be breaking someone's arm and while the victim is writhing in pain and Pentagon mean faces to the camera, the Lucha House Party is just doing their dumb dances and waving around their party instruments in the background.

I literally posted what I did to start discussion about the show and add talking points. People could have provided counter points or had any sort of discussion about it, or have corrected me if it seemed like any of those things weren't quite as good/bad as they seemed.

I listen to the podcasts still because I expressly have an interest in WWE and discussions about it but have literally no interest in watching it. And maybe we could have talked about that Smackdown a bit if you didn't derail it into a conversation about people saying they were glad they didn't watch.

It's a post on a message board. You can move on and ignore it. Seeing HCA post he didn't watch is literally a post I move past and never think about again. It's actually super easy. It's 1/200ish posts in this topic.

For whatever reason, Joe is the only guy who can consistently do amazing with the writing he's given. I don't know if he just goes out there and chops it up or he is constantly working with the writers to make it good, but he really seems to be like the only guy who can overcome it every single time.

My grandfather just passed today. I get three days off for bereavement, but I'm not sure if I should take all three. I only need the one day off for the funeral. For reasons I won't get into, we haven't been as close in recent years, so I don't feel as though I couldn't do my job now. But again, I get three days.

Should I use all three of these days? It feels almost like taking advantage of the situation to get time off.

Man, Bryan Alvarez and Filthy Tom were not kind to Smackdown. I can't believe they had Carmella do the "woe is me, I'm so humble" fake out promo again. Both of the champions do the same shit. Alexa does that promo every other week it seems like.

And it sounds like they completely robbed the Daniel Bryan and Miz feud of any heat with their awful writing. And it was so bad that Miz said that Daniel Bryan should let his contract expire so he can go back to the Indies and the crowd cheered. I mean, good lord.

And Lana vs Zelina sounds like it was terrible too. They need to stop letting Lana wrestle. Even someone as good as Zelina can't idiot-proof a match for her.

They also got into an argument over whether or not this was Carmella's best match. They figured out that it may have been because they can't remember how good the Melzter rated two star Nikki Bella match was.

And I guess the New Day was just being obnoxious during a legitimately great match between the Bar and Usos?

But Joe had an amazing promo at least?

I dunno. I just hear these reviews and find myself feeling grateful that I don't watch anymore.

They did mention they finally got the crowd to cheer for Reigns, but keep in mind it was in his home town too.

But I just think that it would have been a much bigger reaction if it were Strowman, Seth, or even Lashley in that spot and people would be much happier.

He used to be Camacho and then Donny Marlow in FCW. I think he used to team with Roman in FCW. He is incredibly talented and deserved more than he ever got with WWE.

He tore Roman apart and I think he's legit hot at him?
