I've considered that I am so shocked at the exclusion of Ammy in an incredibly thin female roster that my brain hasnt been able to process it.

Also, apparently they're going to have a big announcement at the end of the Capcom Fighters stream now. Should probably be soon since the last thing they're doing is a combo exhibition.

Yeah, but everyone thinks SFV sucks, including the pro players. Stream views are down, and even Excellent Adventures views tanked because people just don't care about Street Fighter V.

I think eSports in general went on a huge decline for a while. It started when Street Fighter x Tekken was absolutely awful, and then it had a chance with Street Fighter V, but that ended up being a giant bust too.

I don't know what kind of magic game needs to happen like Street Fighter IV to get the resurgence again, but it feels like DBZ Fighter may do it.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has a lot of meme jokes about it and a bad roster. Everything else about the game seems amazing, but the roster is just a huge hang up.

So I watched what I think is a Netflix exclusive movie called Satanic.

I didn't expect a good ending. And the budget was like, beyond non-existent and the ending sequence really showed that (even though the filming equipment seemed to be on point). But holy s***, I can think of no more bulls*** of an ending than this movie gave us. Like, there's so much lead up to what is really going on and I don't know if the writers didn't know or they said "Wouldn't it be REALLY COOL if it was left up to the viewer?" Needless to say, it was not cool, either way, and I feel robbed by a movie I barely paid any attention to and actively did not enjoy.

So I finally got around to watching They're Watching.

It was a fun ride until the end, where it careened off a cliff and basically ruined any and all tension and made me question why I ever took any bit of this movie seriously leading up to it. How did the writers miss the mark so god damn bad there?

Ouija: OoE was actually super f***ing good. And I went into it thinking the trailers were all really bad. I am seriously impressed with everything they did. A lot of creative stuff there for that kind of movie that is frankly totally played out. I don't think I have a single complaint about this movie. Pacing and writing was on point. The jump scares were actually meaningful except for the obvious one that was meant for comedic effect. I legitimately want to see another movie based around this now if it's the same quality as this one.

Did you guys see Darknet on Netflix?

I'm actually legitimately impressed by this show. It's essentially a dark horror that are a bunch of short stories that intertwine with each other somehow in the episode. Some of them are really, really clever. It's only six episodes, and I'm pretty sure we're not going to see a new season, but I really enjoyed what I saw.

Well, I didn't think it was that good. lol But I definitely think they did a lot of awesome stuff with the concept. The pacing was actually pretty perfect, which is more than I can say for most horror movies. The scariest scene, I thought, was definitely when the mother just turns out all the lights and forces her son to confront the monster because that thing is just god damn horrifying, mom is nuts, and she's just begging her son to stay calm while it's looming towards them. Like, you know at that point in the story nothing substantial will actually happen, but they built up this thing so well that you just get a sense of dread from it that I rarely get from scenes like that in horror movies.

I like how lightning fast the monster was too. Because when s*** goes down. It goes down. Like, sure. The monster a lot of times just stands there but when it feels like it, it's going super fast. I really dug that unpredictability, and they did a great job with that.

So Lights Out.

It's a good movie. I've enjoyed it more than a lot of the horror stuff out this year. It has a monster that's actually scary and gives an excuse for jump scares while also being creepy and unsettling. It did a lot of clever stuff, and I liked it a lot.

Normally I'd say that you could wait on a movie like this though, but it does a lot of really good stuff with the surround sound in the theater. Like, there's a part of the movie where the light flickers on and off, and each time it flickers off, off in the distance you can just hear the ghost making noises, and it stops immediately when the light comes back on. It does a few other things with that two, and it really was pretty chilling when they do that.

If I had to bring up a drawback of this movie, it's when they reveal what the monster looks like away from the darkness, and she's just a nasty witch-looking b****. Although while the reveal was great, just revealing it when it's not the climax of the movie lessens how scary the monster is. I thought the acting was on point though, except for maybe the kid at points.

Definitely recommend seeing the movie, and it's one of those movies that are actually nice to see in a theater.
