Was it? I know the director said that she was the first female character to get killed off in a Jurassic Park movie so that's why he made it that way to make it memorable. I remember it was from some article or something, but I can't seem to find it.

Damn, he's still going? I might have to contribute to his patreon if I know he's still trucking along. The show isn't as funny as it used to be, but I do appreciate doing something he enjoys.

I'll be the person to admit that many Universities definitely do have a liberal leaning, but most of it is out of empathy for others in misfortunate circumstances and how to make it better for them. I can imagine a university with a conservative leaning be something like PragerU that would just resort to, fear everything that isn't white or christian.

Oh I know, I was in that other topic. I don't think it's wrong to not be interested in something that hits to close to home, but I do think they do a disservice to themselves making false claims about a movie they never watched.

Post-Apocalypse? We have like 20 seasons of Walking Dead, got Last of Us, etc.

It's not just the genre, but also the retro/steam punkish aesthetics and music/soundtrack along with it's own sense of humor is what stands out from those other shows. I don't know if Elder Scrolls will have something that can help it stand out, but if there is than it might be able to work.

The bad PR from the College Presidents from Harvard, Penn, and MIT didn't help things either. But I hate the idea that criticizing the Israeli Government is somehow "anti-semetic".

I wonder if Trump did the same thing when he typed "covfefe".

We have plenty of other medieval fantasy shows to watch. I think that's one of the bigger appeal for Fallout, there hasn't been a whole lot of shows like it made...yet.

Can't wait, I really want some of my friends to watch this movie. It's not perfect, but it does capture the feeling of dread very well like the original Godzilla movie back in the 1950's.

I can see people getting annoyed by the lack of worldbuilding, there are some movies that I got annoyed by this as well. I just think this movie had everything else going for it to make up for it.

I know people in executive level positions that think exactly like this guy...sadly.

No, that's what the new Ghostbuster movie is for.

Went with 3 of my friends and all of them had some criticism, most of it being that there's almost no world building, you're kind of thrust into the movie with little knowledge to what the war is actually about other than there's different factions and the President is going on three terms. One of my friend said he wish he knew which side was fighting for what so he could pick a side to side with. My second friend said he hated that there's a lot of scenes that make no sense to him because he couldn't tell which side they were in or if there the different groups he met were part of any group or side. My third friend said he hated all the talking and wished there was more fighting (he loved the third act for that reason).

Now I'm the type of person that never wants to tell people they "interpret" things wrong, because art is subjective and there's no objective way to measure it, but I think the main problem a lot of people seem to dislike about the movie is that they're judging it for what it's not rather than what it is. For me, I think it was all intentional. Yeah it does sound like I'm dismissing the criticism, but in an actual war it makes sense that there is no clear good guy or bad guy because history has always been written by the winners. Things are never black and white, there's a lot of grey and the fact is almost all the scenes where we aren't sure who's on which side shows the messiness of it all. We're seeing things from the perspective of the protagonists.

But I think the main thing the movie wanted to come across was journalism, particularly war journalism (journalist and/or photographers that go in the middle of a battle ground to get the scoops) and how that can affect a persons perspective and their mental health and attitude. Even though the characters were as deep as I wanted them to be, they do go through transformations and we get to see different takes and sides to journalism.

Though overall I think this is a 9/10 movie. In terms of movie making and production value as a whole, this movie is a masterclass when it comes to the sound designs, the cinematography (there were some really gorgeous shots they got in this movie), the special effects, the music, editing, etc. I do have some minor gripes though when it comes to individual scenes that made it hard for me to ignore or I thought was just really dumb (nitpicks) like I couldn't suspend disbelief that the soldiers couldn't hear the car that rammed into them like that. I get it was an intense scene, but come on.

I recommend a watch, come in with an open mind.

Yeah for some reason Nintendo keeps thinking Star Fox needs a gimmick when most of us just want a good railway spaceship/tank shooter. Star Fox Assault was a good direction, but those on ground missions were rough.

We're supposed to empathize with him. I don't like Maximus, but I understand why his character is the way he is and think the actor portraying him did a great job.

This, which I think the show did a good job at. These characters are human, they're not always going to be perfectly clean and do the right/logical things all the time. The most important part about writing characters is just having us empathize with the things they do and why they do them in context to the story.
