IIRC that was one of the reasons I made a GFaqs account, those boards were pretty crazy leading up to launch, especially with the (daily? weekly? can't remember) Dojo updates. When Melee came out the hype was mostly IRL with friends -- we played a ton of it for several years after it came out, until Brawl basically. I just made the corresponding Brawl topic! | PikachuMaxwell 02/09/18 7:25:07 PM #1 | I was on GameFAQs by the time that Brawl development updates were shown on the website, Smash Bros. Dojo! Lots of good and bad memories, basically. I was a little disappointed by Melee character wise so my optimism for Brawl was so-so. A character called Zero Suit Samus was revealed, and she looked interesting. But I was sad when it was revealed that she could ponly be playable after a Final Smash (although the "trick" to start as her made that concern moot.) I remember being depressed after Pokemon Trainer was revealed - I didn't want humans from the Pokemon world in Smash Bros. But, Sonic's epic reveal and the Ness, Jigglypuff and Lucario leak kept my hopes up for the game. Could you believe it? Sonic broke GameFAQs!
