In-game bugs that didn't affect things like personal info or "premium currency" always seemed fine, but exploits involving third party software were always a no-go.

This site definitely has game genie and gameshark codes on it. Those weren't an issue.

The intro he put here was the same one he put everywhere else. When someone googled it they linked back to his Fandom intro. Someone else saw a Facebook link somewhere and posted it here for some reason. That's the doxx you're talking about. He wasn't stalked, he wasn't keeping anything private at all and it seems like he didn't mean for people to just find him. Nobody has defended the guy that posted his Facebook. But DToast didn't follow internet 101.

I would use Reddit but I hate the discussion format with only the highest rated comments sitting at the top. Doesn't seem like there's room to really talk unless you're responding off the same comment chain.

This is my problem with reddit too. Honestly I kinda prefer most of the other things they've done over older forums, but it feels like you can't have a discussion.

He dropped out of the 1988 race in 1987. People act like that was some monumental failure when it was more an aborted campaign because of stupid reasons. He dropped out in 2008 after a single contest (Iowa).

Quite simply, those are almost completely irrelevant, since being VP is what raised his profile enough to finally be considered a viable candidate. Before that he had limited visibility or recognition.

He dropped out in the 80s because it became public knowledge that he had cheated his way through school.

I'm honestly surprised that they and the Sex boards were allowed it to continue for this long.

I was an admin of the sex board early on and decided I didn't really want to continue as one since the content there was often borderline and I already had drama on another board. I helped them get some things in place though.

I think quite a few of the current mods care about the state of things and are expressing that. I don't think that they will be listened to though since Allen couldn't convince these same admins they were making bad decisions.

This is actually an all around internet case. If you look at credit card companies forcing other companies to remove NSFW content, you can't even swear to be published in some sites articles or videos, and everything like that, it is a grander scale of sanitizing the Internet.

That's just corporate trying to be corporate. It doesn't cut it for the greater internet so it almost always backfires. Business execs these days have no fucking idea what the internet is.

It's so out of touch. Allen refused to ever do this, he recognized that dividing the user base that way would only serve to make people more toxic. His overall rationale was to not use the biggest stick until necessary so that people on average wouldn't push things to their farthest extreme. Seems that's out the window now, though there were hints in some other dead policy decisions that the new admins cbf to look to the past.

Yeah that's noob tier admin shenanigans right there. Even CJayC only did it once and didn't seem to think it was the best idea. I'm not counting the level locked boards which wouldn't really be missed either way since they have little to no activity and are mostly bragging rights. I think maybe the veteran board has a community that's tiny, one of them does at any rate.
