I used to have a bunch of booze, but I don't drink that often anymore. I usually just try to keep a bottle of good stuff stashed away now for when the want arises. All I have right now is a bottle of Torres 30 Jaime I. Discovered the stuff on a business trip a few years back. I think when that's gone I might bite the bullet and pick up a bottle of Bruichladdich Black Art.

Prices have always been going up since the beginning of time. And the government borrowing money printed out of thin air from the fed doesn't help with inflation. Hope you enjoyed your $2000 stimmy money, and if student loan repayment goes through, get ready for even more inflation.
It wasn't always like this. When Nixon put the final nail in the coffin of the gold standard in 1971, that's when everything started to really spiral out of control.

I totally get why the lawsuit was raised. I remember seeing the demographic numbers that were brought up in the case, and the asian families were absolutely getting screwed. With the highest scores of all the applicants they still only had like a 12% chance of entry. Doesn't help that Harvard activity tried to conceal it. People seem to forget that the asian community didn't exactly have it all too good in the past here either, but for some reason they don't get the same soft handed treatment.

There's the rub: you're expecting someone who thinks books are scary to be rational lmao
That's easy to say when you've never held something truly dark.
One of the worst I've seen was a handbook used by a South American death cult that practiced fetishism. There's no description for how disturbing it is to sit and read some of the worst acts a person could commit, full knowing that the dirty old book in your hand was there, in the room while it was happening. The one I read had little hand written notes in the margins, personal tips on how to keep children calm and quiet while everything was going on, like "Make sure the doors are closed so they don't see mom".
Sorry, but if you don't find that scary, you should probably be removed from society and never permitted back in. You're not being some kind of hyper-analytical observer, you're a fucking sociopath.

On a side note. The guy that owned the book was trying to convince me it came from the Constanzo compound, which I'm quite confident was bullshit, and a good excuse to jack up the price on something I had no intention of buying anyway. I only mention it, because it was a rather famous death cult (mainly because they killed an American), and if you're curious about the stuff. That's a good place to start. Just Google Adolfo Constanzo.

Lovecraft probably never even heard of the Shams al-Ma'arif al-Kubra.

No, I doubt Lovecraft ever had any direct contact with the Shams. If I recall correctly, his inspiration came from the Al Azif. The Al Azif was inspired by the Shams. Then again, I've heard both were based on the Picatrix, so who knows. It's all based on some brief notes and passing conversations from almost a century ago. I wouldn't really consider any of it to be written in stone, nor does it help my endeavor any either way.

I wouldn't really say Lovecraft "stole" anything. I think he genuinely loved most of the sources he took inspiration from. The whole circle of authors he was involved in were constantly using each others work to blend in with their own. Lovecraft's entire universe could probably be attributed to directly to Robert W. Chambers, he just brought it to a whole other level. They were all pretty much just pulp writers at the time, so I don't think any of them took it all too seriously. I'd almost liken it to a fan-fiction that grew so large it smothered the source material.

You're not far off.
It's Shams al-Ma'arif al-Kubra. It's the real life basis for the mythical book Al Azif, which was the inspiration for the Necronomicon. Outside of old school traditionalist Sufis, it's pretty much treated like the most evil thing ever written. Like most of this stuff though, there's a whole lot of misunderstanding around it. It's not so much Al-Buni's writings that attract the ire, it's everything that was added throughout the 17th-century. Even that stuff seems pretty tame though. I've seen way scarier books before.

I wish Google was an option. I need to translate an old book, so a lot of it is not naturally formatted.
As for paying someone to translate, that would likely be met with some very negative reactions at best. To say it's taboo is an understatement. There has been some translation done, but I've only seen about 40 pages that were done properly and the book is nearly 600 pages long.

Lakes are just okay if you happen to fall off a boat or go tubing or something but I kinda hate the idea of swimming around with huge dead trees and shit.
Swimming from a lake shore is even worse because you feel all the trash and shit.
Sounds like they have some pretty shitty land management where you live. They keep them real clean near me, and fine the hell out of anyone that makes a mess. I absolutely hate the DNR, but I'll admit they do a good job at keeping the forests and lakes in good shape.
The only lakes I've seen with large trees in them were out in Washington. Don't really see that here. That's also the only place where a lake did in fact scare the shit out of me. There's a tiny little lake out there that looks very pretty and harmless, but it's formed in an old glacial gouge. Just a few hundred feet from the beach it drops off to over 700' deep. You go down in that, you're never coming back up.

What rights are they eroding exactly? Last I saw, a black person has the exact same rights a white person has. What they don't tolerate is tribalism. Something that has come to be an extreme fetish on the left. Nobody seems to see the irony in the fact that the people that are sorting everyone into groups and assigning them a societal status, are calling the people that don't bigots.

The "head in the sand" technique is pretty much the gold standard around here. The democrats have generally fallen on the wrong side of history since the beginning. I wouldn't even say the party has changed all that much. Don't believe me? Here's a little something copy pasted straight from snopes. It's funny. It reads like they want to soften LBJ, but it only makes him sound even worse.

There's no question that Lyndon Johnson, despite championing the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and signing it into law, was also a sometime racist and notorious vulgarian who rarely shied away from using the N-word in private. For example, he reportedly referred to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 as the "n****r bill" in more than one private phone conversation with Senate colleagues. And he reportedly said upon appointing African-American judge Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court, "Son, when I appoint a n****r to the court, I want everyone to know he's a n****r."

That wasn't "bad intelligence". They knew nothing was there, but they needed the American people to support the invasion. All you need to know is that the overall plan is to get NATO fully involved in the war. They want WWIII, and every little goal post they move brings us closer. A good example is the recent announcement they made about declaring Article 5 should there be any kind of a "radiological event". Seems awfully convenient since the Zaporizhzhia plant is now running a risk of overheating, since someone (that someone most certainly being Ukraine) went and blew up the dam that kept the required water levels there.

You really think it's about fighting oppression? I can't say I see any of that going on. All I see is a bunch of corporate virtue signaling. Go take a look at the social media accounts for all of the big companies that are all in on pride month, then compare it to their accounts for China and Saudi Arabia. Funny how all the pride stuff seems to vanish, particularly where the oppression is actually taking place.

And the answer to your question is 12. You have to suck 12 dicks, but make sure they punch your card after, or you can't redeem it.

There are certain brands I am absolutely loyal to. Not necessarily based on the product, but on how they've treated me. There have been a few that have gone ridiculously above and beyond to help me.

I have a suppressed Sig MPX that's pretty much the perfect home defense gun in my opinion. I keep it loaded up with 147grn Federal HST so it stays sub-sonic. Not exactly heavy firepower, but I figure 30 rounds of 9mm should be plenty to take on a couple of midnight visitors, and I don't have to worry about blowing out my eardrums in the process.
