Its main campaign has a concise yet great story which led to WoW and a whole series of novels. Not to mention that the gameplay is a lot of fun too. The multiplayer is great, has a sky high skill ceiling, and many people are still playing it competitively 17 years later. Last but not least, it had an incredibly powerful map editor which allowed players to customize the game in all sorts of ways, with the most notable usage of that being to create a new fucking genre of video games: MOBAs.
