My wife gained 100 pounds because of the insulin she was put on (she was insulin resistant) and I gained 20 pounds when I was put on glyberid. Before that I was 250...and at 250 I could still horizontal climb on the climbing machine at the Metrion in San Jose (it speeds up vertically then moves to horizontal), there was no way you'd say I was out of shape at 250.

So yeah, alot of people with diabetes have extra weight, but sometimes it's cause of the meds they are taking, even working out (which I did 2 hours a day for the 6 months after I started taking gylberide) doesn't stop it. I was seriously pissed when I ended up 17 pounds heavier after working out all summer.
